DragonRealms Updates (2025)

Changes to the game during the 2025 calendar year.

January 2025

• Fun-Day Fridays 21: The FLAGS command now has an option to toggle on ShowRoomID. This will let players see underlying room IDs, though it is still a work in progress. For now any rooms with special mechanics attached to them are excluded, but more will be evaluated over time for addition to the list.
• Tuesday Tidings 255: Release of an Outfitting Society on Aesry.
• Fun-Day Fridays 22: Opening of a new shop in the House of the Silver Star in Shard.
• Tuesday Tidings 256: Update to home status tracking logic to give people a reminder nudge if there are player houses on their account that have not been visited in the last 365 days.
• Fun-Day Fridays 23: Addition of new animated items to fight in Tref Dinta south of Leth Deriel.
• Tuesday Tidings 257: More giant bear hunting space near rock trolls!
• Fun-Day Fridays 24: The disheveled architect has been added to the squat bungalow to sell customizable home blueprints to estate holders for 250 LTBs.
• Tuesday Tidings 258: Crafting instructions now show how many uses they have remaining when they are READ. Also, in the Test instance, they will convert to have unlimited uses when someone uses READ or STUDY on them, as well as clearing any bond on them.
• Fun-Day Fridays 25: Release of the Sorrow spell for Moon Mages.

February 2025

• Tuesday Tidings 259: Update to TEND to allow tending multiple wounds/lodged objects at once, depending on skill. Options to try to tend as many EXTERNAL, INTERNAL, or OBJECTS as possible, with stacked roundtime and experience.
• Fun-Day Fridays 26: Added HEALTH TOGGLE, which allows seeing numeric percentages for health, spirit, and fatigue from HEALTH, as well as in combat messaging.
• Tuesday Tidings 260: Addition of the SUGGEST verb, with MOUNT as the first option. Used to suggest portals that don't work properly with horses, for GMs to review.
• Fun-Day Fridays 27: New breaking & entering loot added to the armory and workroom.
• Tuesday Tidings 261: Four new rooms added to the hunting area for onyx gargoyles.
• Fun-Day Fridays 28: Update to inventory at Ocan's Bait and Tackle in Fang Cove. Bait, hooks, and lines are now in wearable containers, with lines and hooks of the same size consolidated into a single container.
• Tuesday Tidings 262: Update to CREATEMAT in the Test Instance to allow the creation of wands that summon crafting equipment. Unlimited use, 1 minute cooldown, and all tools have 99 quality/potency and last for three hours.
• Fun-Day Fridays 29: Introduction of new high level (180) creature near El'bain's Stop in Therengia, the thornkin.

March 2025

• Tuesday Tidings 263: Added a new CIRCLE option to the EXP command, which shows skills needed for your next circle, as if asking a guildleader about it.
• Fun-Day Fridays 30: Addition of the FUME roleplaying verb.
• Tuesday Tidings 264: Update to ShowRoomID flag option to show the room ID in more types of rooms.
• Fun-Day Fridays 31: Addition of the BOOP roleplaying verb.
• Tuesday Tidings 265: Added rentable private rooms to the remaining crafting halls in Shard that did not have them.
• Fun-Day Fridays 32: Dokt has retired from his work as a healer, and opened up a new store in Knife Clan.
• Tuesday Tidings 266: Updates to the skeleton gift from Hollow Eve, to make it better function with modern systems.
• Fun-Day Fridays 33: The LANGUAGE command has been updated to allow speaking Common with accents, based on race and citizenship.

April 2025

• Tuesday Tidings 267: The barges from Riverhaven to Langenfirth and Throne City have been added to the list for TOGGLE DISEMBARK.
• Fun-Day Fridays 34: The rest of the guild renown scrolls have been updated to use the new system, where they will reset annually and have some tweaked criteria.
• Tuesday Tidings 268: A number of book-type items with different mechanics have been standardized so that turning them to contents, index, beginning, or start will work on all of them to turn to the first page of the book.
• Fun-Day Fridays 35: Updates to Embrace of the Vela'Tohr. Plants show how damaged they are in the active spell window, show what room they are in for Empath PERCing, and corpses can be healed by someone pointing the plant at them.
• Tuesday Tidings 269: Addition of an Engineering Society to Mer'Kresh.
• Fun-Day Fridays 36: Release of the new Advanced Combat Maneuver, RUSH. With a shield held in your left hand, allows you to jump to melee and perform a shield slam.
• Release of a lockpick shop on Ratha.
• Tuesday Tidings 270: 37 new accent options added to LANGUAGE for speaking Common.
• Fun-Day Fridays 37: Updates to Arnack's Tavern in Wolf Clan, adding a dart board, mud wrestling pit, bath, and some additional merchandise.
• Tuesday Tidings 271: A number of transport ships in Qi have been updated to make use of TOGGLE DISEMBARK. This should now be all of the applicable transports updated.

May 2025

• Fun-Day Fridays 38: Rearrangement of the murky caverns in the Zaulfung swamp to split basilisks and shadow beasts into separate hunting areas.
• Tuesday Tidings 272: Updates to a number of shop rooms to be able to show room IDs when enabled with FLAGS ShowRoomID.
• Fun-Day Fridays 39: Addition of the CUTTHROAT roleplaying verb.
• Tuesday Tidings 273: Bulk materials added to the forging society on Mer'Kresh.
• Fun-Day Fridays 40: It is now possible to parry while holding a ranged weapon.
• Tuesday Tidings 274: Another 31 accent options added to LANGUAGE for speaking Common.
• Fun-Day Fridays 41: Gem cases have been fixed, and should be safe to use for displaying your gems, even on home surfaces. They can also be bought once again in the Ratha Trader Shop.
• Tuesday Tidings 275: Bulk materials added to the forging society in Hibarnhvidar.
• Fun-Day Fridays 42: Opening of the Colorful Cosmetics shop in Fang Cove, selling cosmetics and containers for them.

June 2025

• Tuesday Tidings 276: You can now MARK a bundle to keep it from turning back into a bundling rope when sold at a furrier.
• Fun-Day Fridays 43: It is now possible for Warrior Mages with sufficient Summoning skill and Charisma to command familiars without needing to hold the talisman. It is also possible to use a free hand to summon a familiar via a worn talisman, and new chains for wearing talismans are available at Sierack's Reagents in Shard.
• Tuesday Tidings 277: Addition of trash buckets to the pawn and gem shops in Riverhaven.
• Fun-Day Fridays 44: Release of the new Advanced Combat Maneuver, DISTRACT. With a Small Edged or Small Blunt weapon that weighs no more than 30 stones, allows you to immediately slip into hiding as part of the attack.
• Tuesday Tidings 278: Anatomy textbooks and compendiums added to the list of books where turning them to contents, index, beginning, or start will all work to get back to the first page.
• Fun-Day Fridays 45: A new TASK option added for Traders, to run trade routes in exchange for money and Trading experience.
• Tuesday Tidings 279: New affiliations added for citizenship options, along with appropriate regional accents.
• Fun-Day Fridays 46: Release of the new Thief ability, Khri Unburn. A reactor ability that allows reversing recently received damage from elemental sources.

July 2025

• Tuesday Tidings 280: Updates to more rooms to be able to show room IDs when enabled with FLAGS ShowRoomID.
• Fun-Day Fridays 47: A new window implemented in the Wrayth client for visually displaying your injuries. With a similar window for Empaths to show a patient's wounds when TOUCHed, with some basic click to heal functionality that could be expanded on in the future.
• Tuesday Tidings 281: Added rent-a-room mechanics to the forging society in Leth Deri'el.
• Fun-Day Fridays 48: New B&E loot in the Library and Sanctum.
• Update to the Ker'Leor region and the creatures there as a result of the SimuCon Live Dev panel. It has been divided into areas for each creature type, and gypsy marauders have been replaced with meandering mountain marauders (19-21), ferocious foothill fighters (22-24), wary whispering warriors (25-27), and seething summit sunderers (28-30).
• Tuesday Tidings 282: Update to SPELLS command to allow sorting your spells by the skill they teach or the type of spell they are.
• Update to the Aethrolysis spell to make it much more likely to bounce to additional valid targets in the room, with increasing accuracy and damage.
• Fun-Day Fridays 49: Addition of the AUTOCAST command, to allow automatically casting a spell when it is fully prepared, or after a specified number of seconds.
• Tuesday Tidings 283: Expansion of TOGGLE APPRAISAL, adding numerical ratings when APPRAISING skins/leather and items crafted from them.
• Fun-Day Fridays 50: Opening of a new shop in the House of the Gilded Longleaf near Shard.
• Tuesday Tidings 284: Added rent-a-room mechanics to the forging society in Dirge.

August 2025

• Fun-Day Fridays 51: Re-opening of the Quest Nexus, with a new shared prize suite and currency in the form of nexus moments. The currently available quests are Akigwe's Legacy and Prison Riot: The Aftermath.
• Tuesday Tidings 285: Opening of the Langenfirth Crafting Society Outpost, offering consumable materials for various crafts and deed retrieval services.
• Fun-Day Fridays 52: Release of a new creature in the Ker'Leor area with a vicious streak a mile wide.
• Tuesday Tidings 286: The available locations to set in PROFILE were updated to be in sync with affiliation and accent options. Affiliation and accent options were also added to a few items on the list that did not already have them.
• Fun-Day Fridays 53: A new caravan route added to Therengia, between Riverhaven and Therenborough, making use of the Gyfford Bridge.
• Revamp of the DragonRealms website.
• Tuesday Tidings 287: Addition of Novice Binder Serdal to Fang Cove, who can add flares to weapons and armor in exchange for LTBs.
• Fun-Day Fridays 54: An expansion to Feta's Kitchen in Arthe Dale, offering catering services to fill picnic baskets.
• Tuesday Tidings 288: Trash cans added to the Cleric Guild and to Outfitting Society in Riverhaven.
• Fun-Day Fridays 55: Release of the REVEAL verb, which removes invisibility and resets the timer on pulsing invisibility.

September 2025

• Tuesday Tidings 289: Two new outdoor rooms added to the mechanical mice hunting area, and their spawn has been adjusted to balance out where they appear in the area.
• Fun-Day Fridays 56: Update to the INVENTORY command to provde a number of new search options, as well as showing the full tap of items in the results instead of just the sort.
• Tuesday Tidings 290: Updates to the messaging that Empaths see when touching another Empath who has Empathic Shock. The messaging varies based on the shock level of both Empaths.
• Fun-Day Fridays 57: Release of the new frost troll creature, a roughly level 180 opponent found in Seord Kerwaith..
• The Wild Magic event comes to a close, bringing an end to the wild magic phenomenon.
• Significant changes to death, departing, graves, and Death's Sting.
• Tuesday Tidings 291: The hunting areas in the Forest of Night have been reorganized, with an eye toward preparing for additional creatures in the future.
• Fun-Day Fridays 58: Release of the new furniture shop Stone and Thread in Fang Cove.
• Tuesday Tidings 292: Trash bins added to Muspar'i's Outfitting, Alchemy, and Enchanting societies.
• Fun-Day Fridays 59: A new Contact option for Thieves, CONTACT AUDIENCE. This allows an escort to the local guildleader, with sufficient local reputation, no warrants, and in suitably urban areas without too many eyes around.
• Tuesday Tidings 293: Release of putrid tree snakes, an undead level 19-21 creature in the Forest of Night.

October 2025

• Fun-Day Fridays 60: The Crossing Town Green Pond is now a nexus point.
• Tuesday Tidings 294: Updates to more rooms to be able to show room IDs when enabled with FLAGS ShowRoomID.
• Fun-Day Fridays 61: Release of the Barbarian abilities Heitak Form and Axis Meditation. Also an enhancement to the Whirlwind ability to benefit from the damage bonus of the Earthquake berserk (and Axis Meditation). Additionally, forgetting Barbarian abilities now works like forgetting spells, with a scaling cost depending on how long it has been since you last forgot one.
• Updates to the Whole Displacement spell. The removal from combat function will now work in no-teleport rooms, though the special movement messaging is still blocked. Additionally, the activation time increase no longer completely resets on one pulse out of combat, but decreases at the same rate it increased, 1 second per pulse.
• Tuesday Tidings 295: Addition of the master consultant to the Crossing Forging Society. He will buy crafted items (currently braziers, specifically) in exchange for some coin and crafting experience, then make those items available for sale to other characters.
