DragonRealms Updates (2018)

Changes to the game during the 2018 calendar year.

January

• Soulstone updates.

• Messaging updates.
• New soul pool ranges.
• STUDY command added for syntax and usage.

• Crystal Dart messaging updates and tweaks to scaling.
• Noumena messaging updates and tweaks to potency and environmental cast penalties.
• Vessel of Salvation updates.

• Changed from 'sphere' to 'vessel'.
• Longer duration.
• Soul state boosts for the summoner when the vessel is used by non-Paladins to replenish vitality.
• Vessel will persist in a room even if the Paladin leaves the area, but will still not persist if the Paladin logs out.

• Droughtman's Challenge 426 event runs from January 19 to January 28

• Helei leather, Smoi leather, Kau leather, Knarn fur, Diacan and Uthamar materials introduced.
• Rune tattoo removal (empty) pots introduced.
• Starglass light source introduced.

February

• Warrior mage spell changes to:

• Anther's Call: The spell now gives -Evasion instead of immobilization, and is two slots instead of one.
• Ice Patch: Now Immobilizes, instead of stuns. Still knocks down.
• Sure Footing: Spell is now two slots, to better match similar abilities.
• Tremor: Players who kneel or sit are no longer immune to the effects. Single Target option is gone.

• Backstab ability overhaul.

• No longer requires a piercing weapon. On a miss, slicing weapons will replace the attack with SLICE, and blunt weapons will replace the attack with SWING. These are also the maneuvers it messages as.
• Can target all creatures, not just bipeds.
• Ability is renamed to BLINDSIDE, with corresponding BLINDSIDE verb. BACKSTAB remains a viable alias.
• The weight requirement (30 stone cap) still remains. There are still weapon-type requirements, but they should now include Light Blunts and Medium Blunts.

• Risen released.

March

• Slight command released.
• Risen updates and bug fixes
• Telekinetic Storm and Telekinetic Throw can now apply naphtha, provided they strike hard enough to break the bottle.
• Drathrok's Duskruin 426 event runs from March 23 to April 1

• Crafting materials premiering at (but not exclusive to) Duskruin: Dreamweave, Avia, Kirmiko, agonite, ka’hurst, Zoetia, Syrin’s heart, Rikar crystal, lirisan, Aesetani applewood

• Permabless no longer disappears when the weapon is used against a non-cursed target. It just becomes suppressed for some time, which can now be PERCEIVED by Clerics and Paladins as well.

April

• brawling gear made of the correct special metals will now correctly hit a Giant mechanical mouse.
• Some Zoluren Housing areas in Prime received expansions.
• Conviction skill is released for Paladins.
• Smite system overhaul.
• Human clan lore slightly expanded.

May

• Heal spell rewrite.
• Devour spell rewrite.
• Mind Shout spell update.
• TOGGLE command update to add the room location of your death to the global *struck down! message.
• Necromancer, Empath, Bard and Ranger spell based combat pets rebalanced.

Call from Beyond, Quicken the Earth, Reverse Putrefaction, Guardian Spirit, Beckon the Naga, Awaken Forest and Plague of Scavengers rebalanced.

• Trader spells updates:

• The self-repair of Trabe Chalice will no longer be interrupted by taking damage.
• Avtalia Array will now message when any cambrinth piece becomes full.
• Enrichment (crystal fabrication spellbook) capstone spell goes on preview.

• Free accounts new character (under 10th level) command restrictions tweaked.
• Destiny Cipher bugfix.
• Gwethsmasher policy updated.

June

• Nexus points group empowered room ability released.
• BONUS global short term special events (that affect all players) released.

August

• Khri overhaul
• Free accounts characters can no longer earn money from crafting work orders. They can still use the system and gain experience.
• WARN COMMAND can be used while dead.

September

• Teleologic sorcery updates.
• Login tips implemented.

October

• Hollow Eve Festival 428 event runs from October 26 to November 25
• Sleeping Dragon Corn Maze 428 event runs from November 1 to November 25

November

• Ammunition update: all non-lodging ammo will now land at your feet.
• Armor and Weapon Flare Enchantments released.
• Hollow Eve 428 glass egg gift update.
• SHOP command updates.

December

• The SHOP verb received some updates.
• Syamelyo Kuniyo Ranger ranged buff spell released.
• Group crafting system released.
• Thorkim Family Farm 429 event runs from December 28 to December 30.
