RECALL was updated 11/21/2007 and is the ability to remember various bits of information regarding various aspects of Elanthian lore such as famous people, holidays and the Immortals. Bards are especially adept at recalling this information and through their travels and special guild training are able to recall events that happened in the distant past.
Recalling information uses and teaches the Scholarship skill. Recalls are tiered and as your skill increases you will find yourself recalling more and more information.
The expansion of areas to recall was suspended due to resource issues, but with RECALL 2.0 those issues have been resolved and it is now easier to input new areas according to GM Dartenian.
History
From RECALL HELP:
Bards are wanderers, travelers, roamers, moving from city to city, province to province. In their travels, and with their Bardic training, they pick up on all sorts of information others don't. Bards are the tellers of stories and the keepers of knowledge; they know countless stories of legends and folklore, and they remember. Bards are the entertainers and performers, and citizens and commonfolk open up to Bards when they would be suspicious and distrustful of others.
Because of all of these things, Bards are adept at learning information about the areas they visit through numerous means -- local gossip, rumor, legends, folklore, superstitions. Hearing things as they pass through a village, as they talk to its residents, as they spend time in the common rooms of inns, from their knowledge of books and songs and stories, from speaking with and learning from other Bards.
The RECALL HISTORY technique can be learned from and Bard Guild Leader.

Usage
{| Syntax:
RECALL HELP -- Displays this information. RECALL HISTORY -- Makes an attempt to see what you know about this area. RECALL <critter|NPC|person|item> The above options -may- provide special insights depending on guild and scholarship skill. RECALL FAMOUS <name> -- Tries to recall information about <name>. RECALL IMMORTAL <name> -- Tries to recall information about <name>. RECALL HOLIDAY <holiday name> -- by itself, tries to recall the current and next holiday. -- if a specific holiday is named, it will give specific information on that day. -- LIST instead of a holiday name will list the more common holidays. RECALL HERB <herb|wound> -- by itself lists common healing herbs. -- if an herb name is specified, displays information on given herb. -- if a wound is specified, displays appropriate herb(s) for that wound. Wound options include internal or external, all body parts, and scars. Examples: back scars, internal head, exterior scars, neck
Timers and Learning
- Recall teaches scholarship if the topic being recalled is a challenge.
- You can recall 10 times in a row before a timer kicks in and you will gain no more experience.
- Recalls done in succession teach progressively less and less scholarship.
- You can recall the same topic 10 time or 10 different topics and, if the difficultly of the topic is the same, you will learn the same amount.
- The timer on Recall Immortal is 6 minutes.
(this was tested with recall immortal, when I have access to recall history, I will pin down those number, unless someone beats me to it)
- The timer is reset every time you use a specific type recall.
GM information
There are minimums in two stats and in one skill. All three are fairly modest, [for using Recall].
Yes, Mojo/Devotion/Soulstate matter. Not to a huge degree, but they can make a difference, and in any case won't let you bypass the hard-coded minimums.
-- Recall Holiday now has a Recall Holiday List option.
-- Rangers, empaths, and bards may now use RECALL HERB. This will give some basic information about various herbs in Elanthia. Type RECALL HELP for full syntax.
-- All guilds may now attempt to RECALL <CRITTER>. Depending on your scholarship, guild and the type of critter, you may get some interesting information. At this time, one of the features (critter history/lore) is only available on a few critters. Cave trolls, pirates, ice ghasts, spriggan, faenrae chanters, and a few others support critter history/lore. I'll be updating critters on a continuous basis to get more of these out.
