Crime in Elanthia is regulated by the justice systems of the various provinces and local villages. The JUSTICE verb will tell you if the area has justice enforced or if it is a lawless area.

The Thief Guild and Trader Guild also employ their own form of justice.

Hara'jaal Justice
Hara'jaal is a non justice area and most crimes will result in no punishment. If you are hunting Corsairs, they will occasionally look for a guard to have you arrested. If caught by the guards you will be tied to a post and whipped.
Thieves' Guild Justice
Thieves can use their contacts to dispense their own justice.

Trade Route Justice
If a trader catches a thief stealing from them on a trade route they can accuse the thief at the nearest outpost. The guild will thugs to beat the perpetrator and leave them for dead.
Syntax: Acuuse <thief>
