The '''Foraging Compendium''' is an attempt to capture the required [[Outdoorsmanship skill]], common locations, and any other known restrictions for foraging different items.
The Foraging Compendium was originally compiled by [[Zeltaen]] on the official forums. Contributions from dozens of people quickly helped it take off at an amazing rate, and it exists now due to continued upkeep by people at all levels of skill.

In January 2020, a change was rolled into the foraging system that removed specific terrain, daylight and seasonal requirements from many foraged herbs. In general, with enough skill, you can now possibly find all non-water terrain, non-quest, non-special zone (ie. Tasidon) herbs in any room outside those restrictions.
: For example, [[dioica sap]] is no longer found only in desert or icy terrain, but with enough skill, can be found in any non-water room.

The Foraging Compendium is an attempt to capture the required Outdoorsmanship skill, common locations, and any other known restrictions for foraging different items.

This page was originally compiled by Zeltaen on the official forums, but exists here to allow updates by the community.

In January 2020, a change was rolled into the foraging system that removed specific terrain, daylight and seasonal requirements from many foraged herbs. In general, with enough skill, you can now possibly find all non-water terrain, non-quest, non-special zone (ie. Tasidon) herbs in any room outside those restrictions.

For example, dioica sap is no longer found only in desert or icy terrain, but with enough skill, can be found in any non-water room.

Contributing

Contributions are eagerly encouraged. If you have solid data that you wish to add, simply update the chart, or post your findings on the discussion page.

The ranks required reflect not only raw Outdoorsmanship skill, but also Perception. While the exact level that perception affects the skill is not yet known, please be advised that due to the inclusion of the perception skill, these numbers can never be exact.

Furthermore, Rangers appear to have a bonus to foraging, and in certain areas, some items are more rare and therefore harder to find. The best way to know if your contribution as a ranger will be accurate is to use FORAGE CAREFUL to find the item. If the roundtime is 15 seconds and you are able to find the item, it's likely that you're at least vaguely in the experience range.
