Description
Intricate patterns of greens, browns and black cover the dull scales of the kashika serpent, making it difficult to distinguish from its surroundings.
Area Information
Spotted kashika serpents inhabit the Beneath Fang's Peak mine, an Illithi province premium hunting area (PREMIUM 6 3) located southeast of Fang Cove in the Fang's Shadow area. To reach their habitat from Fang Cove's eastern gate, GO GATE, E, E, E, and then GO through the CRACK. Movement in the mine (including RETREATing) can result in entanglement, a web effect that prevents movement and other actions for the duration [ Roundtime: # seconds]. Skill in athletics will mitigate the time it takes to escape this web effect. With sufficient skill it can be avoided altogether. Experienced dilettante's (135 ranks) can avoid it when retreating (12/15/2016). More skill is required to avoid it when moving room to room.
- The serpents have a high spawn rate and spawn in all five rooms of the mine. Additionally, adventurous spotted kashika serpents will occasionally slither out the southern mine entrance into the, normally uninhabited, Fang's Shadow, Dense Undergrowth.
- Their habitat is indoors so they start advancing at pole range and often spawn in packs of two or three.
- The area (being a mine) is obviously suitable for mining and consequently not suitable for lumberjacking. Conversely, the area out the southern entrance is suitable for lumberjacking but not suitable for mining. Both areas are suitable for foraging.
In Depth
Spotted kashika serpents have noticeably unbalanced combat abilities. Their offensive capabilities significantly exceed their defenses. Consequently, they are easy to hit and difficult to defend against.
