God of Magic and foresight, the dark side of the arcane arts. Meraud rarely shows his face, hiding himself within the folds of midnight black cloak and appearing as a dark stranger to those he visits. Meraud does not believe anything should stand in the way of the quest for knowledge, and can be quite ruthless in his pursuit of it. However, he is not without honor, and has turned aside in his quest for knowledge if he has made a promise that interferes in that quest. This does not, however, mean he will not find a way around the obstacle -- in fact, he often will. Elotheans admire Meraud for his aloofness, and also because he is the creator of written language.

Kaldaran Version

The god of magic, passion and unrestrained destruction. Much as he is the source of volatility within magic, he is the also the source of love, desire, and adultery. While considered a fearless warrior he is known for his unpredictable rages in which he will lash out at friend and foe alike with storm and lightning. His symbol is a forked bolt of lightning.

Ashala'taman Sculpture

Found in the floating tower during the periodic event:

Artfully fashioned from dark grey cambrinth, the massive rhodonite-eyed wolf is seated up on its hind legs and gazing vigilantly to the horizon. A smoldering filigree of enruned orichalcum patterns the sculpture's lupine form, wreathing it in a thin shroud of flame that barely illuminates the expansive wall of text behind.

(wall): Hewn from dark blue-grey granite and polished to a mirror-like shine, the glossy wall is covered end-to-end with carefully inscribed text. It recounts the history of the Elothean people in great detail, beginning with their vague, mythical origins and ending with the coronation of late Ferdahl Kukalakai.
