Covetous Rebirth
Abbreviation: CRE

Description: Covetous Rebirth is a dead pattern and spiritual necromancy besides. It creates a pact with unknown demonic forces to bind the soul to Elanthia tighter. And, perhaps, to other things beside. Bear in mind that one of our strongest convictions is that by avoiding demonic influence, we may be free to perfect ourselves and our science.
Effect: {{{dtype}}}, {{{htype}}}, Occasional self-raise via DEPART GUILD with all the benefits of DEPART ALL.
Example Messaging: Unknown
Devices/Tattoos: No devices or tattoos documented.

Notes

  • Covetous Rebirth is a one-slot metaspell that allows Necromancers to occasionally DEPART GUILD with the full benefits of DEPART ALL.
  • How often you may use CRE depends on your Thanatology and in the future your state of being (Normal < Transcendi < Liches).
  • This is intended to be a "get out of Dodge" spell, not something used lightly or frequently.
  • All current Necromancers will measure the delay between uses in hours.
    • You may PREPARE the spell to tell if it is ready, and if not how long it will be until it is ready again.
  • Covetous Rebirth is spiritual necromancy and thus is not taught by the Philosophers. You will need to go to Guildleaders that are less inclined to care about the implications of their work to learn it.
  • The following is all currently assumed to operate the same as with Spiteful Rebirth but is not confirmed.
    • There is no RT involved with using this spell, you can DEPART GUILD and immediately leave a dangerous situation.
    • This spell is not pre-cast like Murrula's Flames it is invoked via DEPART GUILD.
    • When raised by this spell, the target has a chance to keep a memorized spell scroll and will retain some field experience. The chance of retaining and amount of field experience is static.
    • Using this spell twice, or with Call from Beyond or Spiteful Rebirth will result in becoming forsaken, and a death at the hands of the Immortals. Once a forsaken, you will not suffer a death at the hand of the Immortals other than for Divine Outrage.
    • If killed with Harm Evil, Harm Horde or a Cleric's SACRIFICE ability, the ability to use Spiteful Rebirth is blocked with the messaging: Your body is wracked with holy malignance, shackling you with this decaying form.
