Vashir is one of the few Barbarians to favor heavy plate, and wears a unique set of armor enhanced with [[Metal#Anlora-avtoma|anlora-avtoma]], a rare metal said to be resistant to magic.

Spiked pauldrons adorn the shoulders, each bearing a sharply stylized Triquetra symbol inlaid with polished blue-white anlora-avtoma. Large, interlocking draconic scales reinforced with slightly raised ridges form an almost impenetrable barrier while still allowing for impressive mobility.


He has extensive training in many weapon types, but favors heavy thrown weapons, heavy crossbows, and unarmed brawling.

Born into poverty on the floating city of [[Mer'Kresh]], Vashir grew up as the third son of a fisherman with almost nothing to set him apart from any other child. Indeed, the only thing remotely unusual about him was his luck - where most of his siblings eventually fell prey to the hazards of daily life on Mer'Kresh, he always demonstrated an uncanny ability to avoid harm. This only encouraged his already powerful sense of adventure, and before long he found himself growing restless and dissatisfied with his apparent destiny as a poor fisherman. This is why, in his fifteenth year, Vashir left the city of his birth to seek a new life on the mainland, severing all ties with the family that refused to support this choice.


Through the years Vashir's memories of his childhood have faded, rarely discussed and never enjoyed, but he hasn't forgotten what he considers the most important lesson one learns while growing up in such a dangerous place, surrounded by some of the most powerful adventurers in the world: '''Might makes right'''.

Vashir was born on the 1st day of the 6th month of Arhat the Fire Lion in the year 377 to a Prydaen couple living in the wilderness outside Riverhaven. Though young, unbonded, and relatively poor, his parents were adept survivalists and were confident in their ability to raise a son. They began planning a bonding ceremony to make their union official, and for two years the tiny family prospered.

For the first two years of Vashir's life, his parents were as loving and devoted as any child could hope for; however, his father soon became restless. A career criminal, he'd hidden his past misdeeds from his wife out of fear of rejection and secretly vowed to live an honest life, but the weight of that promise eventually became too much for the crook to bear. In the dead of winter in the year 379 Vashir's father vanished from the family's small shelter in the Northeast Wilds, leaving nothing but a small two-word note that read, "I'm sorry."

Since joining the guild in 393 AV Vashir has distinguished himself primarily through his devotion to training, which scarcely wavered even with the outbreak of the war with [[Lyras]] and her undead horde. Early mistakes have slowed his rate of advancement considerably, but he was nevertheless able to achieve Legendary status within the guild by age 19 and continues to push himself higher still.
Life became significantly harder with the loss of one of the family's providers. Several years passed, and Vashir soon found himself forced to hunt some of his own food in order to survive. While his mother was busy seeking larger prey in the wild the young hunter could often be found prowling the salt yard for rats and crabs or stalking frogs within the nearby Pejek Bog. Though the majority of these ventures were unsuccessful, Vashir learned many valuable lessons from his early hunts - and, more importantly, he discovered a love of fighting that would remain with him for his entire life.

Vashir was among those who fought off Lyras's initial onslaught, but chose not to go too far out of his way to aid local defense forces after that point. However, he is not one to avoid battle, and always rushed to meet the undead hordes when fighting broke out nearby. This led to sporadic participation in skirmishes throughout the five provinces.
One of the most influential events of Vashir's young life occurred on the first day of Akroeg the Ram in the year 383 during the Therengian celebration of Vereklaath. Though injured from a recent encounter with a particularly vicious salt crab, Vashir managed to slip away from his mother and make his way down to the salt yard, determined to find the creature for another attempt at killing it. Before he arrived at the yard, however, he came upon an amazing sight: the Founding Day Parade, a parade of soldiers in full armor marching down Riverhaven's main road. Captivated by the sight but unfamiliar with what was happening, he ran out into the street to meet the marching troops. A human Paladin at the edge of the colomn was the first to notice the injured youth and, concerned, fell out of formation to meet him.


[[Tachid]] was the only general to succeed in killing Vashir, but this - combined with several defeats at the hands of other powerful undead - motivated him to train harder than ever before as defeating Tachid became one of his primary goals.
The two became quick friends in spite of the large age difference and strange circumstance of their meeting. Vashir was fascinated by the Paladin's heavy steel 'skin' and other equipment, which he quickly discovered was much too strong for his claws to scratch. The Paladin was impressed by Vashir's enthusiasm and intelligence, and recognized the youth's potential as a holy warrior. After bringing Vashir to an Empath for healing the Paladin returned the boy to his mother, promising to visit him and help him learn more about the Paladin Guild and its ways.


In the summer of 397 AV Tachid led a portion of the undead army in an attack on [[Shard]], where the city's strongest defenders met him with fierce resistance. Vashir caught wind of this and arrived in time to deliver the killing blow, thereby ending his personal interest in the war.

Mere days after this victory a plan was put into motion to defeat Lyras and her undead army once and for all. While the majority of the fighting took place in [[Forfedhdar]], Vashir and a small group of other warriors remained in [[Crossing]] to protect the High Temple, which would play a critical part in the lich's downfall. During the battle [[Sahfra]], strongest among Lyras's risen, led a vicious assault on the city, but was soundly defeated before she could breach the temple defenses. Although it took the combined effort of many heroes to bring her down it was Vashir who struck the final blow, killing her one last time with a simple log foraged from just outside the city gates after the loss of his throwing hammer earlier in the battle.
By the year 390 Vashir had grown into a fairly capable hunter, able to bring in frogs, rats, and salt crabs with relative ease. The Paladin he'd met seven years earlier still visited the boy and his mother regularly, teaching him the laws, morals, and traditions that he claimed to be the foundation of order in the lands; though mildly interested in these lectures, Vashir paid less attention during his lessons than the man hoped, preferring instead to turn the topic to anything involving combat whenever possible. He slowly learned of the Paladin's many battles, each new story fueling his imagination further. He began to see himself as a great warrior trapped inside a child's body, and secretly prayed to Everild for a chance to prove himself in real combat.


Shortly after this Lyras met her ultimate end, bringing the war to a close.
In late spring of the year 392 that chance finally presented itself. Vashir's mother, seeking more profitable work than simple hunting and trapping, was offered a job as caravan guard for a wealthy trader. Her first job would take her south through Zoluren to Iliti and Shard, a journey of many weeks; afraid to leave her son behind for such an extended period of time, she decided to take him with her. Vashir, thrilled at the possibility of fighting banits like his Paladin mentor, thought this was the best thing ever to happen to him.


== Personal Info ==
He was wrong. A large group of thieves ambushed the caravan on the Northern Trade Road a few miles north of Kaera, swiftly overpowering many of the defenders before they could react. Vashir's mother, desperate to save her son's life, knocked him unconscious and dragged him behind some bushes by the side of the road before charging into the fray herself. Vashir would not wake for hours.


Vashir is known to keep to himself for the most part, rarely choosing to become involved in the business of others. Exceptions to this include matters pertaining to the [[Inquisition]] and the [[PHA]], both of which he supports. Rumors suggest that he may also take on mercenary work if the price is right, but he does little to advertise this service.
When he finally came around, Vashir found the caravan devastated. Everything of value had been carried off, including the trader and his apprentice; worse yet, the bodies of the caravan guards littered the roadway, broken and defeated. It didn't take him long to find his mother among the dead, stabbed in the back and bleeding heavily... but still alive. Still in shock but suddenly filled with hope, he bandaged her wound to the best of his ability and lifted her onto his back to begin the long, desperate trek south.


He has a great deal of respect for [[Everild]], [[Kuniyo]], and [[Trothfang]], but exclusively seeks the favor of [[Eu]].
In the end, Vashir was too late to save his mother's life. She died within sight of Kaerna's northern gate, unable to fight through the blood loss she'd suffered. Her last words were, "I'm sorry."


He has had numerous romantic interests over the years but eventually found his soulmate in [[Laniea|Laniea Azra]], and the two remain happily bonded to this day.
