Dantia is a mixture of the Bookworm (quiet, smart, and seemingly physically unimposing) and the Lady of War (a woman of action who retains an air of grace and reserve not usually associated with violence). She spends as much time researching and writing as she does taking care of business, in her own refined way. Think Eowyn from Lord of the Rings, or Joan from Mad Men.

About

Carnage Darling Dantia

You see Carnage Darling Dantia, War Healer, a Human Empath.
She has a triangular face, star-flecked emerald eyes and a freckled nose. Her red-gold hair is long and wavy, and is worn loose, tucked behind her ears. She has fair skin accented by some glittery platinum stars and a slender figure.
She is petite for a Human.
She is an adult.

She is wearing a pair of shimmering white wings resembling those of a dove, a clingy white gossamer gown embroidered with platinum star filigrees, a necklace suspending an uncut diamond wrapped in platinum wire, a pair of daintily winged ankle boots with white gossamer and platinum accents and a white Therengian rose.

Hundreds of white feathers with an iridescent sheen along the inner stem are artfully arranged over a thin wire frame, forming two immense wings reminiscent of a dove in flight. Sturdy white leather straps attached at the base of the wings allow them to be discreetly yet securely held on the back when worn.

Layers of sheer gossamer have been mindfully draped, some areas thin enough to feign at translucence while others are layered for additional modesty. Appliques of shimmering platinum stars and tiny diamonds have been scattered across the front of the bodice and down flowing cape sleeves that hang nearly to the ground when worn. Even the slightest movement causes the tiers of diaphanous fabric to waft, giving an air of ethereal grace.

Hazy in clarity from being uncut and unpolished, a small diamond is held securely in place by a slim platinum wire wrapped several times around its width. Just long enough to nestle the stone at the collarbone when worn, the fine chain is made from minuscule links of silver that shift and shimmer in available light.

This pair of low-heeled ankle boots are fashioned with particular attention to detail. A sculpted band of sturdy white leather forms the rounded toe and curves behind the heel for additional support. White gossamer lace is inset into the sides of each boot beneath two tiny wings that nestle against the ankle. Thin white laces crisscross through platinum grommets to hold them firmly in place.

Guardian Spirit

As you contemplate the spoon, the air around you grows crisper, with the sharp smell of late autumn. In the distance, you hear the gentle chiming of bells, though their tones are slightly discordant to your ears. Abruptly, you realize that you are not alone, a towering alfar warrior with platinum stars accentuating its skin standing before you. Gently, the creature takes the spoon from your hand, inspecting it gravely.

In a sonorous voice, the towering warrior says, "This has been lost to my people for many years, and we had all but given up the search. My name is Ahven. I owe you a great debt, Dantia. Call upon me at any time, and I will come to your aid." The warrior bows respectfully, its left hand resting over its heart.

As it straightens the warrior appears less real, like a reflection seen in an antique mirror. You close your eyes to blink away the dizzying apparition and when you open them, the creature is gone.

This alfar warrior towers in height, tall even among its fae brethren. Warm brown hair has been cut to the shoulder and tied back at the neck with a simple leather strap, while vigilant midnight blue eyes gaze from an otherworldly face. Painted across its collarbone and neck are a series of delicate platinum stars that accentuate its ceramic-white skin and the hard lines of its physique.
NAME: Ahven

Horse

The rose grey horse is eighteen hands high with a red-tinted medium grey coat. It has a dark grey mane and tail. It is a mare and has a white star-shaped mark on the forehead.

It is wearing an elegant white leather saddle with tooled panels and platinum stirrups, a quilted white saddle pad with diamond studs, a bitless white leather bridle with platinum fasteners, a platinum chanfron inset with diamonds and engraved with star filigree, a platinum crinnet made of overlapping articulated plates, an ornately engraved platinum peytrel flush set with diamonds, a flanchard of platinum plates riveted to supple white leather, and a platinum and white leather crupper with star filigree engravings.

This saddle has been handcrafted with an obvious attention to detail. The leather has been meticulously tanned and molded into the most comfortable position possible, with star filigree tooled into the panels on each side where the rider would place their legs. Various platinum fasteners are used to size and tighten the saddle around the girth of the horse for a secure fit, while two shiny platinum stirrups finish the look.

This thick, cushiony pad is used underneath a saddle to provide additional comfort for the horse. A precise crosshatch pattern has been stitched into the pad with white iridescent thread. Small diamonds have been studded into the design at each point where two stitched lines intersect, providing a subtle but captivating effect as the pad shifts with the movement of the horse underneath.

Apprenticeship

Dantia is currently accepting inquiries from Empaths interested in an Apprenticeship opportunity. This is only intended for Empaths who are ready to actively work toward the betterment of their abilities, and will include both classroom-style instruction and real-world application in the art of general Empathy, combat healing, and PvP. Apprentices will attend to Dantia at meetings and events, and, should they prove capable, will be brought into her inner circle and confidence on a number of matters. To be considered, interested applicants should hand-deliver to Dantia an item in the Empath Guild official color. (OOC: This is a long-term, roleplay-heavy opportunity.)

Alteration Helper

Previous work available here.

My personal style leans towards looks and descriptions that are simple but sophisticated. I steer away from overly verbose looks written to use every available character, and favor descriptions that get the idea across in an easy-to-read way (no one wants to have to Google an alteration description). I like to work around themes, such as a common color, gem, or stylistic idea, and enjoy creating whole outfits that work well with each other, especially without the need for tons of alteration fodder.

With all of that being said, I would be happy to work with you on your own alteration ideas whether they fit into my preferred style or not, even if you would just like a "regulations check" to ensure your idea has a fighting chance.

You can contact me on Discord at DantiaDR#3487.

Where We're At

The Assault on Basalt Isle

432-02-25, a few IG years after the death blow to Maelshyve, a group of PCs under the general lead of Rekon began pursuing a plan to assault Basalt Isle, where the Lich Jeihrem resides. From the First Land Herald, issue 432-02-25:

First called before the Baron was Sir Rekon, Council Leader of the Order of the Dragon Shield, who requested the Baron's support in an assault he intends to make on the Reshalian island belonging to the lich Jeihrem, may his flesh wither into dust and his despicable spirit be agonized by the Spiral. The Baron denied the request on the grounds that the Order of the Dragon Shield's sanction is in Riverhaven only, though he allowed that a private attempt may be made, one done outside the name of the Order.

432-05-13, a memorial service was held in honor of the Necromancer Osven and all those who fought in the battle against Maelshyve. In attendance was someone known at that time only as "the scholar" who spoke about how he had been a Necromancer under Osven, and that he had been attacked by a three limbed, five eyed creature named Sivroch (who is associated with Jeihrem in some capacity). The scholar, though formerly a Necromancer, said he had awakened to the light of the Immortals (becoming a Redeemed Necromancer), and that he was under the care of the Temple.

433-06-14, the scholar attended a Riverhaven Town Hall and advised Rekon's group that the Temple had instructed him to warn us of the risks that we would face on the island, and that House Moglin, one of the Rathan Houses, was willing to support our venture. The scholar had been trying to determine how to strike Sivroch down for what she had done to him, and that while he did not think she and Jeihrem could be struck down completely, perhaps we could slow their efforts for a time.

433-06-22, there was a public meeting that included Rekon's group, Commodore Khoheke of House Moglin, and the disfigured scholar. Khoheke indicated that House Moglin had been losing ships in proximity to the isle, and the cost had reached a critical point. They wanted to strike a decisive blow to set the lich's efforts back and give them time to re-secure the waters while Jeihrem recovered. The Temple had provided House Moglin with a holy weapon that could be outfit onto a warship and used from a distance, but Khoheke needed intelligence from the ground on areas of potential weakness where the weapon could be used to most effect.

A scouting party travelled to the island to search for weaknesses, and was quickly faced with push back from Sivroch and several Necromancers. A report was issued back to House Moglin about what had been discovered.

Some time passed here due to the pandemic.

437-04-38, a new group of PCs that included some original members and some new, reached out to the scholar (now known as Zauldin) and House Moglin to begin discussions again. In response, the GMs scheduled "A Discussion of Naval Opportunities". At this public meeting, Zauldin confirmed that the holy weapon works, mostly, and that in the future he will likely be asking for help in a variety of missions - "naval, exploratory, sorties, and the like" - leading up to an anticipated assault. In the meantime, we are to "watch the seas, watch for pirates, and identify those who aid the Lich."

During this meeting, a small contingent of pirates attacked and looted portions of Crossing. Several days later, there was an additional attack of about the same size. Both attacks were defended against fairly easily. Several days later, Srinoja, a Gnome woman apparently speaking on behalf of the pirates began taunting folks over the gweth and then finally revealed that pirates were looting Riverhaven. Adventurers drove the pirates back and tracked Srinoja through part of the city, but lost her trail. She thanked them for the stuff that had been looted, and invited people to join her at a requested parlay in a few days time on Hara'jaal.

The turnout at the parlay was huge, with many people expecting that there would be a large fight with pirates. A small diplomatic team was taken on board Srinoja's ship to attempt to negotiate some sort of peace between her and Khoheke. Eventually, Srinoja agreed that if Khoheke would accept a series of demands, Srinoja and the pirates would work on Khoheke's behalf. On the beach, the combat teams fought with necromancers who coordinated an attack.

437-06-26, we met with Khoheke to outline Srinoja's demands and see if a deal could be struck. Srinoja eventually joined the discussions. Things began to escalate, and Srinoja, with the help of a group of necromancers and those working on their behalf (who were attempting to kill Khoheke), sprung a trap by exploding casks of alcohol. A fight ensued, but Khoheke was protected and escorted to safety.

437-08-10, Srinoja gweths about looting Aesry and sending some "uninvited dinner guests" to Ratha. A small defense is formed on Ratha, where they encounter a swarm of banyakea (creatures that usually reside on Basalt Isle). As the defenders fight back, several House Moglin ships arrive and use a strange weapon that disperses the cloud and ends the siege.

437-08-26 (4/3/2021), an attempt is made to rally the Rathans to rise up against Khoheke. When it appears the citizens do not intend to shrug off House Moglin's influence, several PCs start setting fire to various areas in and around the city, including farmlands prior to harvest. Droning is heard again and another wave of banyakea attack the island. A disjointed force rallies to fight the banyakeas, but are confronted by another group of PCs who take advantage of the confusion and fight against the defenders.

437-08-38 (4/6/2021), droning is heard again, this time in the area of Riverhaven. A quicker defense is mobilized, and the invaders are repulsed. During the attack, Sivroch enters the mind of several PCs, searching their memories for... something.

437-10-34 (4/24/2021), an evacuation is held to escort anyone who wants to leave off of Basalt Isle before the anticipated assault. The effort was confronted by several necromancers and Sivroch, but was still able to see about half a dozen villagers safely through a Moongate to Ratha. Several villagers were, unfortunately, killed in the attempt.

438-01-14 (4/29/2021), a creepy ichor began bubbling up in the Crossing Empath guild, followed by an attack by bone wyverns and bone amalgams. Defenders fought them off, but there were more than a few deaths to the ichor that would attach to a person and flow up over their legs and abdomen.

Srinoja, the Gnome Pirate

Srinoja, the Gnome Pirate captain of the Hangman's Pursuit, made her first appearance during the Assault on Basalt Isle story arc. 437-04-38 (02/25/2021), Srinoja and her pirates attacked and looted Crossing, and over the next few months also looted Riverhaven, Aesry and Rossman's Landing (where she was seen escaping with gryphon eggs). During these attacks, she is often vocal, but polite, on gweth about her looting activities. At one time, she also brought an exploding device and set it off at the Crossing Empath Guild.

It is generally understood that Srinoja's fleet of pirates have been in contention with House Moglin, who owns a major Rathan shipping fleet, especially Commodore Khoheke Moglin. As House Moglin turned their attentions to the Lich Jeihrem (through the Assault on Basalt Isle story arc), Srinoja saw this as an opportunity to make a deal with Jeihrem to join the fight against House Moglin's ships. Srinoja has publicly stated that she is not okay with Necromancy, but IS okay with someone else using it as long as it helps her out against Moglin. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

At one point, adventurers met with Srinoja to attempt to negotiate peace, so that they were not fighting both Srinoja and her pirates at the same time they were building to fight the Lich, but her demands were considered too great for Khoheke Moglin to accept, and negotiations failed.

Srinoja is still on the loose.

Keishalae Returns (title TBD)

Keishalae was a fairly popular alterer who was known for her rough personality and inclination to kill customers at the smallest slight. As part of the closing of Hollow Eve 432, she met her demise and walked the Starry Road.

At Guildfest 438, adventurers were notified that "something's happening in the Imperial Pavilion", the location where alterations were being held for that event. Despite having walked the Starry Road, Keishalae had somehow returned, and was offering to do alterations at the cost of your death or all of your favors. Her title, race, appearance and clothing had changed, leading to many theories as to what, or who, this now was. Of major note is that she changed from a Human to an Elothean, was now called the "True Sorcerer of the Shrew", and her clothing now featured the iconography of a shrew (this may be a reference to Kerenhappuch). She was also saying things that implied she was controlled by someone or something, such a "I HEARD YOU! I AM TRYING!"

Quote

When I was younger, I was named
A generation unafraid
For the heirs to come, be brave
And meet me on the battlefield
Even on the darkest night
I will be your sword and shield, your camouflage
And you will be mine
Echos of the shots ring out
We may be the first to fall
Everything could stay the same or we could change it all
