Keishalae
Status: Dead
Aliases: The Witch
Guild: Moon Mage
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Type: alterer, shopowner

Keishalae was an alterer that worked on item hiders and cambrinth, and just about anything else that could be altered. Her services were expensive, with prices beginning at around 100 platinum and scaling exponentially based on how difficult both the item and the customer were to work with.

She owned and operated the Web of Fate shop. Keishalae was also responsible for moving the buildings and portal from the Estate Holder seacaves to Fang Cove, as well as the initial efforts to enchant Estate Holder rings with teleporting magics.

Following Hollow Eve 417, Keishalae largely retired and only did work during extremely special events (and the occasional voucher). She continued to work until Hollow Eve 432, and walked the Starry Road during the closing moments of that event.

Despite her demise Keishalae made an appearance at Guildfest 438 and once again offered her services. Stating she had "different needs", the Witch would not accept coinage for her work, instead demanding a death (or all remaining favors) from her clientele. Keishalae did not look well.

Her alteration rules can be found at https://sites.google.com/site/thewitchsworkshop/

Death, Hollow Eve 432

With a prolonged body shake starting at the spider's head and rolling down its thorax, abdomen, and finally the spinarette, hundreds of people and beasts of burden are flung from various openings and platforms. Some appear to be on fire, and others are wrestling with, or being eaten by spiderlings! The spider turns its head and slams its fangs into the side of its abdomen and clasps an old woman with very long and curly hair a long moment, before the fangs scissor shut, cutting the screaming woman in half. Throwing its head back, the spider tosses her in the air, and she vanishes into its open maw.

* A meteor streaks across the sky as Keishalae's soul departs forever to walk the Starry Road.

Reappearance, Guildfest 438

You see Witch Keishalae, True Sorcerer of the Shrew, a Returned Elothean Moon Mage
Keishalae has vacant, hollow icy blue eyes, their color faded as if life had left them long ago. Her black hair is very long and curly, with patches torn out to reveal chunks of flesh that are currently home to visible maggots. The skin of her face is gaunt and decayed, drawn back along her gums to reveal yellowed teeth. Her fingernails are lengthy, turning slightly inward at the tips. Her left leg is twisted and misshapen, with the foot turned perpendicular to her body.
She appears to be returned from beyond the grave.

She has faint scuffing to the head.
She is in good shape.

She is wearing a platinum circlet set with onyx Death's Shadow lilies, a pair of opal earrings shaped like tiny shrews, a dirty silk backpack accentuated with white and purple crystal shrews, a dirt-stained white silk shirt with flared cuffs, a dirt-stained dancing skirt of alternating silk and gossamer layers and a silver crescent-moon anklet strung with tiny silver shrews.

At Work

Keishalae whispers to herself, shaking her head violently.

Keishalae unemotionally says, "I am here to work. My normal rules apply. My normal fees do not."
Keishalae unemotionally says, "I have different needs now. The price for your work will be your death. Today, or in the future."
Keishalae unemotionally says, "Die right here on the floor, or pay me with your favors."

Keishalae glances around the area furtively, but you can't tell what she is looking for.

Keishalae pauses as a maggot travels down from her hairline to her cheek. The insect inspects a hole in the jaw briefly before entering. A wet squishing noise is heard shortly thereafter as Keishalae's teeth dispatch the intruder.

Keishalae lets out an involuntary scream and slaps at her left leg!

Keishalae tensely says, "I do have my memories. I know how to do this."

Keishalae mutters to herself something about the divine. You can't tell if it's in awe or a curse.

Keishalae lashes out at something you can't see! A bolt of magic erupts from her fingertips and drunkenly flies into the distance until it audibly smashes something. Keishalae regards the episode sullenly for a moment, then returns to business.

Keishalae enters an emerald curtain, her left leg dragging behind her.

Keishalae unemotionally says, "I remember how to do this."

Keishalae unemotionally says, "I can do it."

Keishalae pauses for a moment, lost in thought. Her eyes go wide and shaky in her compulsive rumination.

Keishalae shrilly exclaims, "I HEARD YOU! I AM TRYING!"

Keishalae tensely says, "I know! You said they get a choice."

Collecting Payment

Death:
Keishalae motions languidly in <Customer>'s direction. <Customer> lurches slightly, then begins to visibly distort. Lifted off the ground by unseen forces, their very limbs begin to twist and expand in violent, wholly unnatural pulses. Their body can only withstand this for a handful of seconds before it comes to pieces in a shower of viscera.
You hear the echo of bone-chilling feminine laughter.
* <Customer> is slain before your eyes!

Favors:
Keishalae waves her hand at <Customer>. At first nothing seems to happen, then a shadow seems to grow around them. There is a moment of utter stillness and silence, followed by the the squeaking of a quickly departing shrew.
