===Background===

All Elves are descendants of the first [[the Two|Two]], named Mother [[Celestidhl]] and Father [[Keloryon]]. Elves cannot bear children until they are at least forty years old and often have difficulty conceiving, rarely giving birth to more than one child at once. They generally trace their family lines through their mothers and tend to place a high value on child-bearing or raising adopted children. Elves tend to dislike Dwarves, because the Elven version of history states that it was the Dwarves who unfairly murdered Keloryon seven thousand years before the Victory of [[Lanival]], causing Celestidhl to Fade out of grief. An Elf's values and cultural practices often depend on his or her clan affiliation. Unless killed by force, Elves do not die of old age but rather "Fade" into non-existence once they have lost the desire to live.
