ATTENTION: As of the release of Artificing (June 2019), the creation process for this item has changed. See Mirkik sokis.

The Mirkik Sokis enchantment turns a topaz or thealstone into a portable light source that can be used to allow the user to see in dark rooms.

Creation

Components

Steps

  1. Imbue your thealstone or topaz twice
  2. Scribe, but do not activate or bind the Shardstar sigil
  3. Scribe, activate, and bind the Sun sigil. All 3 activator spells are viable for this step.
  4. Charge the base item -- Keep CASTING Dazzle on the base item until filled to the desired capacity, or full. The base item repulses dazzle when full.
  5. Scribe, activate, and bind the Katamba sigil. Unleash or shadows can be used as the activator spell for this step. Dazzle as an activator will be repulsed.

Syntax

  • RAISE sokis: To create a light source that will follow you as you move between rooms for the duration of the enchantment.
  • WAVE sokis: To create a static light source in the room you wave it in.

Notes

  • Once activated, Mirkik sokis cannot be toggled or shut off.
  • The enchantment runs until the power is exhausted.
  • How long this enchantment lasts depends on the size of the base item and how fully charged it is. Charging can be anywhere from ~10 casts of dazzle at 50 mana to 50 casts at dazzle at 50 or more. This varies with gem value/size.
  • If you attempt to use a topaz of any size with a value less then 200 local currency copper, this enchantment will fail, vaporizing the gem upon binding the sun sigil.
  • If a barbarian tries to use the enchantment it will fall to the ground and cause everyone in the room eye injuries.
  • Means "dark seeker" in Haakish
