Spell preparation

Various shops and NPCs may allow you to acquire the ability to cast using many different types of spell preparations. Some can be acquired through guild sects, others as a premium perk, or some simply just for coin. Most (if not all) of these preparations require a Magic Feat to use, and your character may only have up to 3 special preparations at a time. Listed below are the different types of special preparations along with their requirements and/or advantages.

Basic Preparations

These are the default guild preparations.

Alternate Preparations

Requires Alternate Preparations and may also require either Illusory Preparations or Silent Preparations feats.

You trace an intricate rune in the air with your finger, illusory lines lingering several seconds as you prepare the [spellname] spell.	-	Premium LTB
You take up a handful of dirt in your palm to prepare the [spellname] spell. As you whisper arcane words, you gently blow the dust away and watch as it becomes swirling motes of glittering light that veil your hands in a pale aura.	-	Premium LTB

Illusory Preparations

These preparations provide an enhanced visual effect but do not have any mechanical advantage.
Requires the Alternate Preparations feat and the Illusory Preparations feat.

Silent Preparations

These spell preparations are mechanically easier to hide.
Requires the Alternate Preparations feat and the Silent Preparations feat.
