The Mirkik Sokis enchant turns a topaz into a portable light source that can be used to allow the user to see in dark places.
Creation
Components
A medium or large topaz- A topaz with a value between 200 and 1000 copper or a thealstone acquired from a nimbus.
- Enchanter's Burin
- Celestial sigil of the Shardstar, Sun and Katamba
- Activating Spell: Shadows, Dazzle or Unleash
Steps
- Imbue your item twice
- Scribe, but do not activate or bind the Shardstar sigil
- Scribe, activate, and bind the Sun sigil. This HAS to be activated using Dazzle or Shadows, as it will fade away after binding if not. (Tested positive for Dazzle, Negative for Dazzle, Shadows is yet untested but assumed safe)
- Charge the topaz -- Keep CASTing Dazzle on the topaz till the topaz is filled to the desired capacity, or full. The topaz repulses dazzle when full. How long this enchantment lasts depends on the size of the topaz and how full it is. Charging can be anywhere from around 10 cast of dazzle at 50 or 50 cast at dazzle at 50. This is assumed to vary as well with gem value/size.
- Scribe, activate, and bind the Katamba sigil. The activation spell can not be dazzle as this will repeat the message about it repulsing the charge as the item is full.
Use
The mirkik sokis can be used with the command RAISE SOKIS which will set it to follow the user for a set duration. It can also be used with the command WAVE SOKIS which will set it to remain in one room instead. It cannot be toggled or shut off, once it is used it'll keep working until it runs out completely.
Notes
- You can also WAVE the enchant and rather than following you it will stay stationary and provide light in a single room.
If you attempt to use a small topaz or a medium topaz worth less than 200? copper for this enchantment it will vaporize the gem upon binding of the sun sigil.- If you attempt to use a topaz of any size with a value less then 200 local currency copper, this enchantment will fail, vaporizing the gem upon binding the sun sigil.
- If a barbarian tries to use the enchantment it will fall to the ground and cause everyone in the room eye injuries.
Does not work with new gems.Has been updated to work with new gems.
- Means "dark sight" in Haakish
