Do we think that it was a material that just didn't get found & added last year, or that it's a new one to 439? My feeling is that we start a list somewhere, and if we find say 6-10 "new" materials, it would be worth it to make a new set of templates. Otherwise we just presume they were missed in 436 and add them in now. Thoughts? Kythryn 02:47, 6 November 2021 (CDT) |

:Asked GMs yesterday and I'm waiting for a response. It's also possible we just missed nimbus garnet last year! --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 09:21, 6 November 2021 (CDT) |

== Recent reversible item documentation == |
|||
Before you get into these more (ie. not sure if there are others in the pipeline to document), looks like the re-directs you edited in are messing with the SOURCE documentation. For example, on Item:Stunning red party dress corseted down the back, I am seeing the SOURCE as also being "Item:Stunning red party dress corseted down the back". I'm presuming these are in a shop or from a raffle or something, which is what should be showing? Anyhow, this isn't the first reversible SOURCE issue that's on the wiki, the Bunglefoot's Tent ones are a mess too (see Item:Vivid blue gown of fine spidersilk decorated with tiny groupings of moonstone beads along its square neckline). Maybe it's time for a template for these? If you do want to make one up, I'll be happy to help wade through current ITEMS and clean things up. Kythryn 17:07, 5 December 2021 (CST) |

:Yeah I have no idea what's causing that. I don't think it did it in the past. I need to poke around. TEVESHSZAT (talk) 17:10, 5 December 2021 (CST) |

:Yep, it's from the links in the text all being sloot vs ilink. Either way, it shouldn't not make the shops themselves not show themselves as a source option. Weird! TEVESHSZAT (talk) 17:38, 5 December 2021 (CST) |

== Imbuement rod property == |

So I'm wading through the crafting tool list, going back and updating old items with all the shiny new tags. Just got to the imbuement rods and it looks like they have a metric we don't have a field for. You'll see something like this on their info: |
|||
: This rod has a maximum effective mana adjustment of 45...<br> |
|||
IIRC, you set up all the various elements for the Crafting Tool specifications, so I wanted to check in before wading into adding an additional field. Plus, I'm not quite sure what to name the field (maxmanadj? maxadjust?) and would welcome your suggestions. Thanks! Kythryn 20:22, 5 December 2023 (CST) |

== carving & skinning knives == |
|||
Hello again! So I've hit the 2 knives, Carving knife and Skinning knife on the crafting tools update project. Both the pages use the manually assigned itype=skinning knife or itype=carving knife to populate the variation lists. And that's obviously something we've been trying to move away from needing to use on common groups. Also on both of these, we are going to have quite a few that are Weapons. And, the Weapons form doesn't currently have an option to tag as a crafting tool nor the whole crafting tool section you added to the Item form. |
|||
So I guess I am reaching out on if you agree it makes sense to add the Crafting Tool options to the Weapons form as well? The itype thing can be cleared up when the carving/skinning knife is an ITEM and not a WEAPON, however we would still need to assign an itype to all items going forward so that we continue to catch the weapons on those lists as well. Thanks! Kythryn 16:09, 6 January 2024 (CST) |

== Additional Item Properties == |
|||
Sorry for leaving you "notes" here on the wiki, I'm not on Discord very often. I did read the other day though one of your Discord notes about how, since the wiki software updates, when you update some of the item properties/templates (?) that it initiates a long delay before you can re-edit again. So, with that in mind, I did want to just put some addition suggestions here for you to consider, and if you think they are worth rolling in, you can do them next time you are in tinkering with something else...:). Or just let me know if you agree with the list and I'll watch for a slow time and roll them in myself (I just don't want to interfere with any higher priority updates for these QoL additions). |
|||
* Has item property new options: |
|||
:* gem pouch that has a link to the Gem pouch page |
|||
:* Trader appraisal item that has a link to the Trader jewelry page |
|||
:* picked flora that has a link to the Picked flora page - I'm on the fence about this one, it's a niche set of items that not many folks care about, but there are so (so!) many of them. And I would love to eventually ditch my complicated Category adding system and move over to ASK queries but right now there is no single or combination of tags I can latch onto to identify them for that. |
|||
* On all the Tool type is tool options, create a link to that tool-type page. There will still be a few red links as of this posting but I am making good progress on updating all those Crafting Tool pages and should have that project done by the end of January. |
|||
: So the output would look like: This item is a bone saw with: |
|||
* Either update the Guild association is property to include Orders (Order of the White Rose, etc.), Estate Holders, Mentor Society & Province (and maybe City) names, or make a new field named something like "Organized association is" to be a catch-all for them. For example, I noticed that all the order pages have a "gift list" page but someone has to go in and manually update those tables. If they had a tag, they could switch those over to an ASK query. And I know I've done a search multiple times for Ilithi "swag", would be nice to just have those items flagged and have a list of items linked off Provincial pages. You get the idea. |

Segmented club verb fix
Thanks for swapping my free text over to linked verbs. I should be able to duplicate that for future contributions, but is there a good place to look for more instructions? Oh, and every time I try to create my own page, I just get an empty browser window. Something I'm missing? Thanks again! --STEFYNX
- I think most stuff is covered in the Manual of Style, but if not feel free to ask or just follow any followup tweaks me or another mod might make to your page. You're doing great overall! --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 20:26, 4 October 2016 (CDT)
Razortusk Tweak
Sorry I just saw your message. I was attempting to change "Razortusk Sow" to "Adult Razortusk Sow" since that is its name IG. I actually think the page name should change also, but I don't know how to do that.
Sorry about that! It (probably) won't happen to that extent again. I was just figuring out how some of the templates and forms worked. Almaz 21:24, 6 October 2013 (UTC)
- Don't worry about it! I used to do the same thing until it drove the mods crazy, too. --TEVESHSZAT 21:55, 6 October 2013 (UTC)
Figurine edits
I was right in the middle of editing that page, and had made all the disambig pages and stuff, and you are changing it right in the middle of my changing it, so let me know when you are done please so I can go fix what I was doing. for page Large bin of miniature figurines. --Linett (talk)
- You weren't on AIM to talk about the change so I took care of it. --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 23:27, 17 June 2014 (CDT)
- Just curious but what else are you changing about it, anyway. While tweaking the figurine naming convention you had listed, I noticed you added some stuff Persida removed (which is why I removed it again). Just to know what you're doing ahead of time for the page so we don't have to hash out the details after the fact. --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 23:30, 17 June 2014 (CDT)
Safari S'Kra Kor
Heya! Thanks for getting these guys onto the wiki! Those duplicates I think were made up for the invasion creatures from the previous events; might check to see if they are one in the same? Also, there's a category for the safari critters if you want to add these new ones into it: https://elanthipedia.play.net/mediawiki/index.php/Category:Taisidon_Safari_creatures --Kythryn 20:16, 1 August 2016 (CDT)
- The warriors, shaman, and villagers have different gear, and their special attacks seemed to have changed (or, in the case of the villagers, they don't seem to call for help!). I was wondering if they were the same as the old ones, too --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 20:19, 1 August 2016 (CDT)
Quiet Found Treasures Update?
Thanks for the heads up! I was actually out of town the last couple days, so have to catch up with the new safari stuffs...I'll keep an eye open in the shop when I get organized and back onto the island later, although I imagine you already have it all sorted out...:) Thanks! --Kythryn 21:42, 13 August 2016 (CDT)
- So there isn't (currently) a crooked stand in the shop here in prime. Maybe it disappears after the items are all purchased? Also, there are new items on the table, so that's something I'll keep dropping by to check on until the island closes...--Kythryn 03:28, 14 August 2016 (CDT)
- Weird! I'll see if there's anything new or changed on our end, too. --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 10:18, 14 August 2016 (CDT)
Edits
Thanks for the tip on look entries! --STEFYNX
Took a stab at the Ratha Outfitting Society. Hope it isn't a disaster, just used Riverhaven as template, checked descrips, updated as needed. One small thing of interest...Riverhaven template tool store has 10 yards of wool yarn. Haven't checked that, but Ratha is definitely 100 yards, not 10. -STEFYNX
- I would definitely go to that room and BUG the discrepancy, too! --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 10:50, 13 October 2016 (CDT)
Updated Ratha Engineering Society. All items should be correct as listed. There are more items here than appear in the others (or the others are outdated). The verbiage from the shopkeepers is different in some cases also. Just FYI, oh, and I bugged that other one like you suggested! Let me know if I broke anything!
Came across something new, wasn't sure how to fix it (wanted to ask for help before I broke it :) ) Armor:Dented bronze gladiator's shield is messed up. I think it is using an Armor template instead of a Shield template. I updated the item manually, but the edit with form function seems to want to recreate the item. --STEFYNX (talk)
- Fixed. Be sure to timestamp your posts with a signature --~~~~ so it's easy to find what is the new comment on a talk page. --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 23:48, 4 November 2016 (CDT)
Oh, and I give up. I've tried creating my own personal page about a hundred times, I must be missing something. How do you do it? If I try to create it from the page, it just times out.
- Try posting something small to see if that helps. --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 23:48, 4 November 2016 (CDT)
- Doesn't seem to. If I navigate to my page User:STEFYNX I have these options: "There is currently no text in this page. You can search for this page title in other pages, search the related logs, or create this page." Attempting to create the page gives me a white screen of empty browser, just grinds. --STEFYNX (talk) 23:58, 4 November 2016 (CDT)
- I'd post on the forum under the wiki section. --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 00:04, 5 November 2016 (CDT)

Was working on some items this evening, couldn't figure it out. Was trying to show that Item:Carved sanrisi wood sheath embellished with silver fittings contains Weapon:silver broadsword fitted with a sanrisi hilt from Griniel's cottage page. Broadsword page is new, created it this evening. On preview, the store page would remove the sheath and sword, and put it above the other items (outside that nice table). Must be missing something somewhere.STEFYNX (talk) 23:48, 11 February 2017 (CST)
500 Internal Server Error's
So I've been getting these errors pretty frequently over the past 36 hours or so, and it's not too big of a deal on most of the pages. I just make a note to come back to them once things have settled down with the HE2016 updates and move on. However, it's been a couple hours now that I have been getting this error any time I attempt to preview or save changes on the Hollow Eve Festival 421 map. I was hoping either you could look into what's going on (you mentioned seeing an error report from the Sumptuous Silks thing, and that was the same error I'm getting now). Or, maybe I could just post in a preformatted copy/paste to your sandbox or here the actual upload for the "Below Deck" section and let you give the upload a try? That *should* be the last major update I need to make to the page for awhile, and it'd be nice to get it live since there are some shop changes in that remaining section needing to be uploaded. Let me know your thoughts on this and thanks! --Kythryn 03:21, 30 October 2016 (CDT)
- To follow up on this, the wiki did crash this morning (it's back up now about 6:30am Mountain) and I was able to take advantage of getting this problem section updated. So, this might now be a non-issue. --Kythryn 07:33, 30 October 2016 (CDT)
- I've been getting this for two days now when trying to edit the Ranger Trail System page. I was able to edit another page, but this one is consistently going to the 500 error. Perhaps related, but I noticed that searching "RTS" no longer goes straight to that page. --HRODBERACHT (talk) 00:12, 5 November 2016 (CDT)
- From a few tests I did before, it looks like any edit that is over roughly 8k-8.5k characters is causing the system to get a 500 error --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 00:16, 5 November 2016 (CDT)
- Was there a workaround, or are we just waiting on something to get fixed? This section is 17k alone, and I've got rather more in progress. -HRODBERACHT (talk) 00:23, 5 November 2016 (CDT)
- Right now the solution would be have smaller individual sections. I don't now if that would make sense for the trail page, though. --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 00:24, 5 November 2016 (CDT)

HE439 game prize templates
So I wanted a 2nd opinion before I make a separate set of these for the new year. I just started cross-checking materials against some of the templates, and in general, I'm seeing the same things in 439 that we saw in 436. But, I did find a 'new' option; nimbus garnet on the GEMSTONE list.

So I'm wading through the crafting tool list, going back and updating old items with all the shiny new tags. Just got to the imbuement rods and it looks like they have a metric we don't have a field for. You'll see something like this on their info:

Hello again! So I've hit the 2 knives, Carving knife and Skinning knife on the crafting tools update project. - Has item property new options:
