Character Manager

The character manager (CM) guides players through the character creation process. This is where players choose their name, sex,, appearance, and starting location.

Premium and Platinum players can also choose their character's age and date of birth and have access to more features.

As of March 1, 2011, players have access to more features in the character manager and can choose whether to start in the Crossing or Riverhaven.

Features

Unless otherwise specified, all features can be accessed via the Character Manager (for Standard, Premium, and Platinum players) and the Shift system.

The options absent, standard, and original don't appear verbatim in a character's description.

• absent: feature is not mentioned in the description
• standard: the default value for your race (often absent)
• original: the value that the character had when he left the Character Manager (usually inaccurate)

Name

No two characters in the same instance can have the same name. If the player chooses a name that is unavailable, a built-in name generator will suggest some alternatives.

Hair

These options are available to all races except for Gor'Togs and S'Kra Mur, which do not have hair. (A Prydaen's hair is called a "mane.")

Age and Date of Birth

These options are not available to Standard accounts. (Standard characters are randomly assigned an age and a date of birth.)

A character's age and date of birth cannot be altered by Shifting. However, an Empath can shift a character's apparent age, making him look younger or older than he actually is.
