Official Badge of the Northern Watch

Mission Statement

The Northern Watch, commissioned under His Grace, Baron Gyfford Theren, is a military organization dedicated to providing steadfast support to Therengia, the Baron and his family, and the provincial citizens. Our guiding principle is Deeds above Words, exemplifying our commitment to action over inaction: we do good things to good people, and bad things to bad people.

Founded by Sir Madigan, the Watch has thrived under the guidance of several notable commanders, including Marsais, Jerid, Jayrbee, Frodes, and Lyathe. After nearly two decades of inactivity, the Watch was reestablished in the year 441 under the command of Sir Madigan.

While serving all of Therengia, the Watch maintains its headquarters in Rossman's Landing.

Members can be identified by their badge: a steel badge displaying the insignia of the Northern Watch of Therengia Embossed in the steel is a shadow-black silhouette of a tower crowned by a yellow seven-pointed star. An imposing zweihander and a mighty lightning bolt cross in front of the tower, positioned in unyielding defense. A jade vela'thor vine winds around the base of the tower, framing the unit's motto in bold block letters: "Deeds Above Words."

Organizational Structure

The Northern Watch is organized into units that promote efficiency and camaraderie. Each unit performs missions, shares information, and gathers socially under the direction of their unit Lieutenant and Sergeant. Officers, including the Command Unit, Lieutenants, and the Order Liaison, meet weekly. Unit Lieutenants set regular meetings, while full Watch meetings are held as needed.

The Watch is ideal for citizens of Therengia who: - Thrive within a military-style command structure. - Seek to be part of a tight-knit group ready to act. - Aspire to challenge themselves and grow as a team.

All members, including the Command Unit, are required to complete the Gauntlet—a rite of passage testing grit and perseverance. Completing the Gauntlet fosters 'esprit de corps,' creating a common bond among Watch members.
