Svelae is an extremely hard gem has a diamond-like luster but an even brighter fire than the standard diamond. Svelae are mined among the mountains near Hibarnhvidar, and special pride and care is taken with each one found. Formed in a manner similar to diamonds, svelae gems are saturated by colorful liquid mineral pockets, usually introduced by erosion. Several attempts have been made by alchemists to reproduce svelae from diamonds, but so far none have been successful.

Svelae means "gleam" in Haakish.

They are described as being pale blue or green in color and filled with fiery inclusions that sparkle or scintillate with (an icy fire/a fire/an intense inner fire) that rivals diamonds or with diamondlike luster.
