Backstory

Abandoned as an infant and left to the mercy of the wilds, she was taken in by a pack of blood wolves found at Neer's Hummock, Game Trail, who became her family. For years, she survived in the untamed forests, learning the ways of the wild and understanding the language of the beasts.

Infancy

One particular summer, overcome by hunger, she was caught stealing a loaf of bread from the Ranger Guild Hall in Langenfirth, Therenborough, where the esteemed Guildleader Tolle resided. Instead of punishing the feral and frightened child, Tolle saw potential in her and sent word to Lord Arnald Tolfree, a local aristocrat known for his refined manners and charitable heart.

Stealing

Tolfree took the child he dubbed Lexxa under his wing, naming her after a figure of strength and determination, determined to polish her wild edges and mold her into a figure of grace and poise. Despite her new life of comfort, Lexxa was haunted by the mystery of her origins.

As she neared adulthood, Lexxa overheard a conversation among the household staff and learned that her birth parents, who had abandoned her, lived in Temple Hill, Zoluren, with their new family. Though she never approached them, she often lingered in the shadows, watching her siblings from afar, her heart torn between the life she knew and the family she never had.

Present

Now fully grown into herself, Lexxa has stepped further from the shadows of her past and into a life of both wild instinct and responsibility. She still carries the untamed spirit of the wolves that once sheltered her, but her path has led her to become a citizen of Zoluren, with her name now woven firmly into Elanthia’s story.

Guided in part by the early influence of Lord Arnald Tolfree, Lexxa has since taken on more formal roles. Though her citizenship ties her firmly to Zoluren and her Crossing roots, Lexxa has begun to expand outward, claiming strongholds that mirror the duality of her life. Her retreat in Shadow’s Reach, Ilithi, offers quiet solitude when leadership grows heavy, while her ebony log lodge on the Zoluren–Therengia border provides a private refuge near the caravansary trails. Helios, her prized warhorse, carries her faithfully between the city and the wilderness, while the rest of her steeds remain in her care at her other havens.

Her life has broadened beyond survival; though her heart remains tied to the forests and mountains, she has learned to navigate the halls of influence as surely as she once stalked prey beneath the moon. Nights still find her beneath the stars, bow close at hand, but the dawn now greets a woman who has carved out not only a place in the wilds, but also a name in the heart of Crossing. Yet Lexxa’s journey is far from finished. Whispers already tell of her eyes turning toward new lands, where more retreats may rise and her steeds may one day graze under distant skies.

Headquarters: Near the Zoluren –Therengia border, Lexxa has claimed a new ebony log retreat nestled against the ridges of the Northern Trade Route. Sheltered by the mountains and close to the caravansary trails, it serves as a private refuge after long hunts or travels. Here, Helios, her prized warhorse, carries her faithfully between city and wilderness. This haven reflects the balance of her life — a woman divided between the untamed wilds and the weight of leadership, yet wholly at home in both.

Previously: In Shadow’s Reach, Ilithi, Lexxa established her first true sanctuary: a spacious ebony log home set among a cluster of thatch-roofed zinduvalus. Its meadow is home to Helios and the other steeds she raises and trains, a cornerstone of her ongoing trade. The human-only settlement provided a rare sense of stability, a stark contrast to her once-nomadic existence. Nearby, the laughter of a mud-faced girl playing along the road reminded her daily of how far she had come — and how much further her journey may yet take her.

Ilithi Retreat, Lexxa’s Quarters: Lexxa’s private quarters carry the quiet scent of horses, a reminder of the life she has built from the wilds. A shadow-black rug softens the polished ebonwood floor, with a chestnut sleigh bed and dark oak desk set neatly against the walls. A bronze-trimmed brazier offers steady warmth beneath a framed portrait of two foxes locked in a high-stakes standoff — chosen for both humor and warning. Her personal touches are everywhere: a white cat with bright blue eyes sprawls across the rug, while Nyx often waits nearby for her return. Earlier: Before the log home was built, Lexxa briefly owned an elegant white sandstone villa in the same settlement — a mark of her early success in horse trades. Though refined, it never truly suited her restless spirit, and she eventually exchanged it for the log retreat better aligned with her nature.

Formerly: At the very beginning of her journey, Lexxa lived in a simple lean-to along the Northern Trade Route. Open to the skies and vulnerable to the elements, it offered little comfort — but it was all she could afford. In those years, survival was her only measure of success. Intelligent eyes survey the area, incongruous with that of an animal one might happen across in the wild. On the ground and partially hidden, a silvered bow and lone arrow are ferociously guarded and protected by the carved beast. Gentler than Everild, Kuniyo still retains a deep wildness within him, and does not like to wander far from the sound of battle. However, he also enjoys the wilderness, and is therefore a favorite of rangers; especially the rangers who use their sword on a frequent basis. Kuniyo is served by several noble youths and maidens who he may send out to help train a promising young warrior. Kuniyo is stubborn and vicious in battle. Lexxa's brand is on the flank. Wild horse herds roam in Ilithi, particularly in the steppes around Horse Clan, so head south. On the road between Shard and Horse Clan, the trail branches north and forms a small loop. The herd roams around that area. You usually have to search around before you find their location. There are two sets of classes related to horse training: classes/skills that are taught to the character, and classes/skills that are taught to the horse. You the adventurer must learn Basic Horsemanship from a stablemaster (free) to get started.
