Prepare
Begins preparing a known spell with a specified amount of mana, or manages spell-preparation messaging.

You see: Since you're not feeding enough power into the spell pattern to make it coherent, you quickly work your way to the minimum required.

PREPARE <spell> <mana> — above the spell's maximum
You see: Since you're attempting to feed more power into the spell pattern than it is capable of utilizing, you quickly work your way down to its maximal potential.

PREPARE <spell> <mana> — insufficient attunement
You see: You feel intense strain as you try to manipulate the mana streams to form this pattern, and you are not certain that you will have enough mental stamina to complete it.

PREPARE <unknown spell>
You see: You have no idea how to cast that spell.

PREPARE while already preparing
You see: You are already preparing the <spell> spell!

PREPARE after preparation is complete
You see: You have already fully prepared the <spell> spell!
