Garnets are silicate minerals that range from gemstone-quality transparency to opaque and has a luster that is categorized as vitreous (glass-like) or resinous (amber-like).
Species of garnet can be found in every colors, with reddish shades being mode common. Blue is the rarest color.

pyrope | Deep red to black. |
pyrope blue pyrope-spessartine | Color-changing from blue-green to purple depending on the color temperature. Resembles alexandrite. |
