First introduced during Hollow Eve Festival 458. These are a type of anthill garnet.
Rissan cinder ants carry these garnets to the surface along with unwanted soil and gravel. Rather than simply discarding them at random, workers tend to scatter the stones around the perimeter of the colony, where the scent-laden stones serve as territorial markers. Cinderstones range from deep crimson to nearly black, but direct light reveals flashes of ember-red within them. They absorb heat readily but lose it almost as quickly.
Cultural Associations
Cinderstones symbolize rightful claim, established boundaries, and knowing where you belong. Rissan travelers sometimes carry a cinderstone to remind them of home, but superstition holds that it should never be allowed to touch foreign soil, lest it forget where it belongs.
Common Description
Deep crimson in color, the exceptionally clear stone darkens nearly to black in subdued light. Stronger illumination draws sharp ember-red flashes from within the crystal before they vanish again.
