Description: The knowledge of the Shadewatch Mirror spell has been limited to the Goldcaps, privileged members of the Y'Shai, and the Council since its inception. There is nothing further I can tell you at this time.

This is a non-battle spell that can be cast on a single target. Non-battle spells have significantly longer preparation times than battle spells. It can be cast without a target, on other adventurers, and on dead adventurers. It requires a minimum of thirty mana streams, and can expand to a maximum of one hundred mana streams woven into it.

To begin to be able to cast this spell, you will need to reach the rank of a 50th degree adept. By the time you have mastered this spell, you will be ranked as a guru in your abilities as a caster. It requires the Utility skill to cast effectively.

Rubbing Mirror:

Your visions due to the Shadewatch Mirror cease.
A shadowy mirror shudders and splits into a thousand shards that quickly melt away.

Syntax

  • GAZE or LOOK MIRROR to start watching.
  • TAP MIRROR to stop watching.
  • RUB MIRROR to toggle blocking other people from LOOKing into it.
  • BREAK MIRROR to end the spell.

Notes

  • Uses the Perception spellbook mana levels to determine the attunement cost.
  • The mirror will be destroyed if you leave the room.
  • Freshly cast mirrors default to allowing other players to LOOK into them.
  • Mirrors have more restrictions when cast during the day as compared to during the night:
  • Day:
  • The spell can only be cast if your target is outdoors or otherwise able to see the sky.
  • Using the mirror to view your target likewise only functions as long as the target remains outdoors or able to see the sky even if the spell was originally cast at night.
  • Night:
  • The mirror can also be cast on your target even when they are inside buildings or otherwise unable to see the sky.
  • Likewise, it can also be used to view your target while they are indoors even if the spell was originally cast during the day.
  • Scrying does not automatically restart if it is ever interrupted. For example, if the target moves indoors during the day then it must be LOOKed into again in order to resume the scrying after they move back outside.
  • Acquiring this spell requires the completion of a quest (Spoiler)
