Lord Chamberlain Isleif Dunshade is a Warrior Mage of well over 100th circle and claimant to the lands formerly controlled by House Dunshade. Son of Byron Dunshade's previous marriage to one of the Morzindaen of House Weyato. Byron wanted to kill his wife and Isleif, so Baron Jeladric IV helped them flee and hide and dissolved the marriage. He's related to Prince Vorclaf of Zoluren on his mother's side. He is engaged to be married to Macja, a relative of King Raenilar of the Outcasts in an effort to strengthen ties between Therengia and its desert neightbors.

He was named Elak's successor as Chamberlain (although the title is now Lord Chamberlain due to his nobility) after Elak's assassination. He is investigating what he believes could be corruption under Elak since the Barony's finances aren't adding up. He thinks he was given the position to not pursue his claim to the former Dunshade lands. Isleif keeps an apartment in the Noble Inn in Riverhaven (the ebony door just up the stairs).
