Description

You see Magus Terra Jaal'alyin, Lore Keeper of Velaka, an Elf.
Terra has elegant arched eyebrows, pointed ears and thick-lashed dark eyes. Her ash-blonde hair is very long and thick, and is worn in an intricate braid threaded with a pearl-white silk ribbon and allowed to fall over one shoulder. She has fair skin and a lithe figure.
She is a bit over-average height for an Elf.
She has a tattoo of wide, pronounced rays feathered out across her eyelid that bloom into a stylized sunburst before gently trailing down in a tapered point on her right cheekbone.
She is in good shape.

She is holding a dark serpentine stamping stick crafted into a draconic form in her right hand.
She is wearing a loosely draped desert cowl wrapping into a diaphanous mask of sheer mistsilk, a form-fitting robe of pale Musparan silk, a sallow white hooded cloak of capacious gossamer cloth, a weathered sana'ati greatsword sheath wrapped in pale Musparan silk, a soft leather music satchel, a gloomwood khuj with matte onyx er'qutrite inlay along the blade, an intricate knotwork wedding ring cradling a radiant zenith spinel, some warding beads and some supple calf-high boots laced with dusky silk.

History

Born in the outskirts of Leth Deriel, Terra was raised by her parents in a very sheltered, typical Elven childhood for the first 30 years of her life. Both of her parents were devotees of Tamsine and were frequent visitors of her abbey south of the Elven stronghold. While she enjoyed her simplistic life for the most part, something in her stirred for more; she wanted answers. She sought adventure and to unravel the mysteries of the world. Big dreams for a small Elf. Too soon was her day of depature to come.

A band of gypsies were travelling along the Southern Trade Route, heading North to their home west of Therengia. Taken by their carefree, jubilant demeanors Terra penned a note to her parents the night gypsies made camp near her home and joined them on their trip home, seeking the thrill of adventure. Several days and nights they travelled, going through a bustling town called the Rivercrossings and passing over two rivers and one lake before they made it to the place they called home. Known as the Ker'Leor Forest, the woods seemed more twisted than what Terra was used to (nearly akin to the Forest of Night!) and the gypsies seemed to have adopted a more hostile attitude when home.

Feeling she gained as much as she possibly could from her gypsy hosts, Terra headed even further west through the Gemfire mountains, a treck she barely survived. By the time she began her descent on the other side, she was starving and incredibly thirtsy when she spotted a desert. Seeing no hope in sight, she collapsed to her knees and had resigned herself to giving up. Hours passed when she woke to the sound of a loud voice followed by the straining and jerking of a rope. After her vision adjusted, she opened her eyes to see a barge moving through the sand being pulled by incredible hulking beasts. She quickly began to back away from the sight, before she bumped into a group of passerbys who saw her distraught state and merely chuckled, informing her that it was a sand barge leading to the great city of Muspar'i.

Giving her food and water, the group of adventurers said that they were heading to the great trade city to see the Dancing of Flames, put on by the Bard guild leader Selinthesa. Upon arriving in front of the massive city gates, Terra's heart swelled with joy and after hours of exploring the amazing city by day, she huddled near the Street of Performers at night to witness one of the most beautiful performances she'd ever seen. When all was said and done, Terra cautiously approached the beautiful S'Kra leader and inquired about studying within. Thus began her journey as a Bard.

During a recent visit to the Crossings temple in Zoluren, Terra was deep in prayer to the Gods when her vision was overcome by a brilliant phoenix rising from the ashes. The taste of salty tears filled her mouth, and a fierce resolve took her over. Remembering back to her studies of the various historical figures in the Bard guild, she finally understood the passion that Murrula inspired within the gifted. Sending a soft prayer to Albreda, she gripped her witch's blade and converted to the following of the phoenix.

Embracing the living family members she has left, Terra has recently changed her surname to that of her relatives, Talmuron. While still holding dear to her father's name of Meigus, she has taken on her mother's name in honor of the great sacrifices she has made.

After a rather unfortunate incident which caused her to miscarry, followed by another series of unfortunate incidents Terra had a change of faith. Instead of venerating peace and seeing no reward, she has instead (whether for right or wrong) decided to do the same thing but with a different motive. She wants to stop destruction by appeasing the dark gods. She is still undecided where her faith will take her, awaiting a sign of some kind. But for now she just trains, to be a better warrior to better protect her family, her friends and her guild. She has moved back to Muspar'i to focus on what is important to her.

Quote

"Throughout time, Bards have been the mortar that kept our people and history intact. We have taught the people, soothed them when they were frightened and made them laugh when they would despair."
