The heroic tattoo system was introduced during Drathrok's Duskruin 438 (2021).
Use
Functionally and mechanically, they are very similar to both runic tattoos and teleportation tattoos.
- Heroic tattoos can be used any anyone, magic users and non-magic users alike.
- They will teach Arcana skill when INVOKEd.
- Once applied, they can be INVOKEd to provide a +20% boost to the skills or statistics they're tuned for.
(This is an improvement over magical wands and other self-activating devices, where the potency of the effect is lower.)
- INVOKE: You brace yourself as you activate your tattoo and feel empowered, as its magic washes over you.
- The boost will last for 60 minutes, with a cooldown that can be reduced with Arcana skill. With sufficient ranks you can achieve a 100% uptime.
- Heroic tattoos cannot be dispelled.
Cooldown
It’s a sliding scale from 0-1400. Counting as if the cooldown starts when the tattoo is invoked, at 0 ranks the cooldown is 2x the duration. At 1400 ranks it’s 1x the duration (i.e., the cooldown ends when the effect ends).
