Caraamon, I disagree with you that wood should be limited to only those unique to Elanthia. Everything that was there is found in Elanthia or in items, and could be foraged, used in alterations, or, eventually, used in the crafting system. Presumably the woods used in crafting, just like stone now, are going to have different properties. Additionally, as a resource for planning alterations, this list would show all that's available and would differentiate between real-wood woods that appear in Elanthia and those that do not (birdseye maple, hemlock, balsa, eucalyptus, etc). Finally, purpleheart, lacewood, haon, shaal, ironwood, and silverwillow are all real-world trees, too, while some that you removed '''are''' unique to Elanthia (fishtail oak, bricklebranch, taborwood, etc.) I think if you're going to make a distinction, it's going to get way too complicated. - [[User:Hrodberacht|Hrodberacht]] 03:00, 13 November 2010 (UTC) |

Appraisal Values
Some people are adding appraisal values that are converted (I assume by script) from Dokoras or Lirums into Kronars. These conversions are sometimes off due to differences in rounding. You may want to put a note not to use converted appraisals. --Isharon 21:44, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
Woolly References
Heya talking to jaedren today I was wondering if it was Woolly or Wooly tanglefoot. It should be Woolly(2 L's). I wasn't sure how you wanted to change that since there's an entry on Wooly and Woolly, and there's a few typo's in game, the trading cards(he said that'd be fine unchanged) and the Bardic recall(he said that should be changed in game). --Powerhaus 2 sept 2010
- That's odd. From what I gather from talking to Raesh, the recall basically pulls from the card itself. Maybe I misunderstood. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 18:48, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
ah there was a post they fixed it... i meant the pedia articles though, I guess delete the wooly article and just find and replace the other instances with Woolly. --Powerhaus 2 sept 2010
- Already done. Cheers. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 05:19, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
Player Elf Categories
I do not want to mess anything up by trying to do it myself since I am not exactly sure what you did, but I just wanted to mention that not all of the Clan categories are done. I noticed two PCs still showing up on the NPC list for Forest Elves, for instance. --Rangergls 04 AUG 10
- Noted, and thanks. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 20:00, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Heya
re: your note
Cyia wanted a page, and she's not good at the code, so I just made one up for her real quick, and said I'd clean up whatever she decided to put there later. Also did the same for Meanne(page building), but she's edited it since then. Lemme know if you got any issues or anything, I can just give C a formated version of whatever that she can just paste if that works better.

New At This...
Caraamon,
I am sorry I am really new at this so I don't even know if this is how I should be contacting you. Wanted to say first "thank you" for all the work you and everyone else here have done. It has been an enormous aide to me. Second, I saw that you were looking for an update to the "Glyph of Warding" page? I have never edited a wiki page before so I am pretty uninformed. However, I was wondering what information you were looking for?
If I put this in the wrong place, this message, my sincere apologies.
--Malchazador 03:04, 22 April 2010 (UTC) 8)
- This is exactly how you do it, so no worries, and thanks. Basically, the page hasn't been updated since the new depart mechanics went in, and I know glyph of warding was changed then. I just don't remember how it now interacts with the new mechanics. Don't worry about the editing, just try your best and one of the many people who work on this site will come along and fix any formatting issues. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 05:44, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for getting back to me. I did find a few posts by Dartenian about departing with a ward as well as the new "glyph" command which is meant to replace "trace". I can paste them in or something, but I am currently looking at the page in edit mode and I have to admit, I'm really overwhelmed and think I'm out of my league. I am really sorry. I can paste in the info I think. But formatting it correctly I think is out of my skill set right now. I hope I don't mess anything up.

The Great Outdoors
This freakin' shop SWITCHED its prices in the middle of me trying to figure out how to use a Wiki ... The day before they were in Kronars (same as the shop's been the other two times it appeared) and some time last night they switched to Lirums (although everything in the shop still apps in Kronars). Is that what you're referring to?
EDIT: Ooooo I see, two pages. I'mma attempt to update the (2) page to Lirums.
Skizzy 13:26, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Updated prices on Great Outdoors, The (2) to appropriate Lirums values. Sorry for letting my n00b show, but is adding an item page as simple as adding a tag for it? There's a bullwhip missing from that crate. Will try to find that answer for myself while I update the rest of those. =D

Edit the page, take a look at how it's all set up. If it still makes no sense to you, post all the info you have on the Talk page and someone will make the edit for you. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 22:21, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Couple things I've had trouble reverse engineering (namely that Bardic Journey, The =/= The Bardic Journey, and how to list an item's slot as "tied to hair") but I think I'm getting the hang of it without leaving any stupid mistakes behind. Skizzy 23:05, 17 May 2010 (UTC) Redirect for the bard shop noted, and appreciated! Skizzy 23:56, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
- To set an item as hair worn depends on if you're doing it by hand or with the Form. The Form has a drop down menu that'll set where an item is worn, just select Hair. If you're doing the work by hand, "|Wearloc=hair". When setting Wearloc, make sure you set the Type as well. Even if you properly set the location, if you don't set one of the Types to Jewelry, Clothing or Container the page will not display the worn location.
-Glimmereyes 01:48, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
Wearloc=hair is "placed in the hair," no? There's a separate slot for "tied to the hair" and that's the one I can't figure out how to pick. Skizzy 08:00, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- As far as I know, there's no difference. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 08:03, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
All of your items worn tied to the hair: a makeshift hair tie of braided sinew
All of your items worn placed in the hair: a delicate cambrinth hairpin graced with a tiny enameled shrew
Items worn tied to the hair: 1/1
Items worn placed in the hair: 1/1

- I've added support for it. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 03:29, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
Nonexisting Character Pages
Moved this discussion over here. I'm not talking about a glut of PC pages. I'm talking about pages of characters that DON'T exist at all. Example: http://www.elanthipedia.com/wiki/Ena It's for someone's house pet. Another example: http://www.elanthipedia.com/wiki/Thewonmisral He states the character will probably never be actually seen and is just part of history (though I know things change, so you know, that'd be something to confirm.) These are the examples I'm talking about - not actually played characters. The hedgehog as an NPC really bothers me for the precedent it could set. --Ysselt 04:13, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
- I completely agree. Bring those type of pages to moderator attention and they'll be squashed. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 04:24, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
Heya
Just got back in the game after a long break, good to see your still around.
I don't even want to think about how much stronger you must be now.
See you in the Realms!

juggling list
Caraamon, if you get a chance, could you have a look at the juggling table I started in my sandbox/juggle. The current list of juggling items on the perception page doesn't list the vast majority of the jugglies we have as items. I thought it would make more sense to compile the table based on "juggle" item types instead. However, with the current item templates, only store-bought juggling items will list their source. That's at least as far as I can get... I'm not so good with figuring out templates. If you're able to work out a solution, I'll go through and get the current perception page list itemized.
Thanks for fixing my Gorbesh Captain's items, by the way. That was making me crazy.

Concept Pages
Hi there Caraamon. What's up with all of the "Concept" pages that show up in Special:BrokenRedirects? If you visit those pages, it looks like they're correctly redirecting to Item pages. Is that a bug of some sort? I've been trying to fix broken redirects but I don't know what to do about those.
-Vien 15:45, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
- Never heard exactly what caused it, but during an update a while back most of the pages from the Item name space where moved to the Concept name space. All the pages have been moved back to their proper name and I've slowly been deleting the Concept pages, but don't always think to fix/Delete the pages linking to the Concept.
- Short answer, either ignore the Concept pages or tag them with the Delete template. Pages that redirect to Concept pages should be altered to point to the Item name space.

Duplicate Posts
I'm not sure which to keep. This is the original Post:My_Pyre_is_Broke_:( which links from the Phoenix's Pyre page, and this is the one just created Post:My_Pyre_is_Broke_:(_*NUDGE*_-_7/21/2010_-_14:42:55 with as yet no links I'm aware of. I'll leave it up to you to decide which is the correct format, since creating post pages confuses me. ;)--Evran 02:24, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Away
Hey, I've been away the past few months (again). Do we need any site maintenance stuff or not? (Been way way busy with real life, job for bills etc, still not back in DR etc.) --Callek 22:03, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
- Nothing dire. Just continue to poke around like you always do. :P -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 03:29, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
Durability Changes...
Ok, so with durability changes comes new "ranges" in appraisals...
Do we have anything setup that recognizes "Was appraised with old ranges" vs "Was appraised with new ranges" in wiki, if not should we? [1] --Callek 20:12, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- Yup. Items not marked with "newapp=yes" get tagged with Template:OldApp. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 21:15, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
Not sure if this is a result of the new durability changes... but when doing database search/sort, the highest to lowest order goes 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 10, 1. TEVESHSZAT 21:21, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know, I'll look into it. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 21:44, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- Can you post a link to an example? It doesn't seem to be doing that for me. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 21:54, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- When I sort this page by balance, it does the 9, 8, 7, etc etc etc 10, 1 thing, but ONLY when I do from most to least. When it goes from least to most, it sorts properly. Sorry for the super long and messy URL. It seems owly and bitly etc are all blocked as spam options.

- Okay, I see it. I suspect it's a bug with the semantic programming, considering how specific it is. I don't think there's anything we can do. I'll do a bit more checking. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 22:33, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- No problem. Just wanted to give you a heads up. It's a really specific oddness and I doubt people would often even run into it. TEVESHSZAT 22:34, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Multiple Shops
I was thinking about this on my ride home from a road trip, would it be easier to use other designations for festival shops that change year to year instead of (1), (2) etc? For example, for Hallow Eve fests, they could be (HE2008), (HE2009). Most fests are able to have a two letter designation, HE, GF, EL(Feast of Eluned), EL2(Feast of Eluned2), etc. then that way, we know which year which shop much easier. Just a thought. --Ysselt 03:04, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
- In general, I would agree, except that it seems that some versions show up at multiple festivals, before they get switched to a new version. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 01:36, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
Sysops
I've named you "lead sysop" even though you've been in that roll for a while now. Please glance over the current admins listed here and let me know who you think we should bump down due to inactivity and let me know if you want to bump any current editors up due to their contributions to the wiki. I trust your judgement.--Naeya (talk) 21:46, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- Wow, I'm flattered. Thanks for your trust.
- As for admins, I think we need to drop Farman and Aetherie, as the most recent post by either of them was January 2009. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 00:46, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
