The Empath Shalvard Khalgrimis can be found in the Hibarnhvidar Hospital. His parents named him Shalvard in the hopes that he would become a blacksmith.

Description

A large Dwarven male, standing roughly five and a half feet tall, Shalvard Khalgrimis nevertheless manages to look kindly on most who enter his care. His large hands can usually be found holding his belt or smoothing the near-spotless red apron he wears. Although he usually presents a smile to the public, every once in a while you catch a grimace cross his features.

Conversation Topics

Bvarn

Shalvard grins at you, "Bvarn and I were neighbors when younger. He, Dagreth and Gertrelda used to go everywhere together. Later, Gertrelda married Bvarn and they lived happily until Gertie died." Shalvard sighs. "Dagreth worked hard to save her, but was unsuccessful. Dagreth blamed himself and went into self-imposed exile in Riverhaven. However, he is back in Hibarnhvidar now, at Bvarn's insistence, and we are patching things up."

Dagreth

Shalvard glances at you, "Well, Dagreth is a nice fellow, but a bit reserved. We knew each other when we were younger. We weren't as close as he and Bvarn were, they being brothers and all, but we were friends. He and I talk every once in a while, whenever we both have time."

Empaths

Shalvard says, "I am an Empath, and the guild is located just across the way, on the other side of the main cavern."

Forfedhdar

Shalvard says, "Forfedhdar is the name of the province we are in. Hibarnhvidar is the capital of the province, though it borders all of the other land-bound provinces."

Gertrelda

Shalvard looks at you, "Gertrelda was a childhood friend of Dagreth and Bvarn. When they grew up, she married Bvarn, but died of a terrible illness later. Dagreth blames himself for her death, though he did everything he could to save her."

Hexoch

Shalvard says, "Hexoch was once a Dwarven King of Hibarnhvidar. There is a statue of his likeness in the City Offices."

Hibarnhvidar

Shalvard says, "This city, Hibarnhvidar, is broken into two main parts. The portion of the city on the surface of the mountain and surrounding it are mainly trading areas and tourist accomodations. Many of the major businesses and guilds of the city have located themselves underground, however."

Hospital

Shalvard says, "This is the Hibarnhvidar Hospital. Open all the time, ready to heal your wounds, for a price, of course."

Ladar

Shalvard says, "Ladar and I get along quite well. Every once in a while, he comes by for a quick chat or to ask me to take care of his burns."

Lodomn

Shalvard says to you, "Lodomn's a funny fellow, always sitting at his desk. Quite personable when he gets out, though."

Mountain

Shalvard says, "Well, most of Hibarnhvidar is located within this mountain, has been for years."

Parents

Shalvard says, "Ah, my parents. They named me, hoping I would grow up to become a great smith. When I began feeling the pains of other people, especially those of Juln, my father, I realized I was going to become an Empath. After joining the Empath guild and traveling for several years, I ended up back here as the head of the Hibarnhvidar Hospital."

Shalvard

Shalvard says, "That would be me. I am the resident Empath healer here in Hibarnhvidar. Although you can find many Empaths in the Guild not far away, I am the official Empath of this Hospital."

Tunnels

Shalvard says, "There are many tunnels in Hibarnhvidar, most of which are safe."

Shalvard says, "That would be my father, mastersmith of Hibarnhvidar. He loves me, but still wishes I could have followed in his footsteps to become a smith."
