Greetings!

Three new (non-crafting) quest-level design material are being released at Taisidon Mystery 2024.

Adamantia steel
Daring expeditions by the Emerald Knights deep into the heart of the Dark Hand, in what was once the Dwarven land of Adamantia, uncovered a long-forgotten process for producing a particular variety of steel used by Dwarven forge masters to arm their warriors against the encroaching shadows. Having neither the time nor inclination for high trade, the Knights offered their information to an ambitious Dwarven magnate from Shard in exchange for a modest tithing to their war coffers on every sale. The use of Adamantia steel is considered by many to be a symbolic representation of resistance against corruption and resilience to the ravages of time.

Common Description: The matte, stony finish retains an inherently weathered aesthetic, as if a mountainous crag had naturally eroded into its current form.

Note: The material is Adamantia steel with the "A" capitalized

berrybomb bast
Recognizing their grape stompers' regular use of bast fabric for its natural penchant to wick away water, an enterprising conglomeration of Halfling vintners set out to devise and popularize a new textile. Bast fibers specially treated with a mixture of berries, oil, and sweet tobacco leaf resulted in a unique variant, rumored to enhance the flavor of whatever liquid runs across it -- particularly sweet alcohols. While it can be dyed any color, it will always have a berry-hued undertone speckled with glittery black dots. In honor of the merriment and mirth from which berrybomb bast was born, the Olvi winemakers leaned into the lexical double entendre of their fabric's chosen name and, through gleeful marketing and sensationalized word of mouth, it quickly garnered a reputation for bolstering one's stage presence, sales pitches, and general charm. Many supplicants of Glythtide have also developed a fondness for the material, and regularly incorporate it into matters or mementos of spiritual significance.

Common Description: A faint, swirling <berry> hued undertone speckled with glittery black dots spreads across the fabric, reminiscent of a thin layer of glistening jam.

Allowable Berry Hues: abule berry, blackberry, blocil berry, blueberry, boysenberry, cloudberry, dusk berry, esturi berry, gooseberry, hhyssk'et berry, kocho berry, raspberry, strawberry, taffelberry

Note: It is recommended that the specific berry-hue is only referenced in the LOOK/Examine to avoid way too much berry-insanity in the TAP.

faelight leather
A True Bard and hobbyist leatherworker first discovered the means to evoke a mischievously welcome pattern of behavior among the fae creatures that hide in plain sight among us. By calling out with enchanting song and instrumental melody from just outside a tanning shed as common animal hides are being treated within, the lucky lyricist may find their product...changed. Whether the fae exchange one material for another or they work some unique process upon the existing skins is hard to say, for all attempts to catch them in the act have resulted in abject failure. So named for the glimmering crystalline undulations pervading the leather, it is thought by some that no two patterns are identical due to the bespoke resonance between the spirit of the fae and their connection to subtle variations in every musical performance.

Common Description: A wavy pattern of crystalline undulations glimmers faintly across the rich, supple leather.

riverlimb
Through techniques passed down through generations of River Elves, limbs harvested from trees that thrive upon river banks are specially treated until all remnants of their origin are washed away. What remains is a rich, caramel brown wood with a swirling blue grain like currents of water flowing over silt.

Common Description: Rich, caramel brown wood shows a swirling blue grain like currents of water flowing of silt.

Enjoy!
