This opal-like organic gemstone that's made from the fossilized shells of ammonites can also be called ammolite. The inheritance of aragonite, a mineral contained in nacre gives this gem its iridescence.
It often has a beautiful rippling iridescent pattern that resembles dragon scales and comes in a wide variety of vivid colors. Its exterior is typically clear, but the individual pieces of its interior resemble colored mother-of-pearl.
A large array of color is displayed in iniskim, including all the spectral colors found in nature. Red and green are far more common than blue or purple. Crimson, violet, or gold are among the rarest colors.
This material is not required for alterations.
