Quarterdeck

[The Dragon's Slave, Quarterdeck]
Reinforced mistwood decking creates a firm base for the impressive ship's wheel. Billowing white and blue tarps are run overhead from the rigging to provide some relief from the elements. From the slightly raised platform here, you can see forward the length of the proud vessel, the silver and animite fittings polished to a shine.
You also see a reinforced oak hatch trimmed with pearl hinges and a silver handle engraved with the Captain's name, the gaff topsail, a highly polished engraved bell of pure silver, the lower spanker, Pilot Sarahkyth, the spanker mast and the upper spanker.
Ship paths: forward.

a large spoked wheel painstakingly etched in scrimshaw with detailed pictures of ships and storms
This handcrafted ship's wheel is carved from the finest mistwood and reinforced by silver fittings that run down the sides of the spokes and set into the bottom of the wood. Arc-shaped sections of the wood are laid up in overlaps around turned spokes to form a circle. The segments are silver-screwed and finished with timber dowelling. Running along the circular outer border of the wheel are scenes etched in the finest scrimshaw of various ships caught in the waves by ferocious storms.

a reinforced oak hatch trimmed with pearl hinges and a silver handle engraved with the Captain's name
Two layers of thick oak with nearly flawless matching grains are joined together by a seam of high gloss steel screws, creating a heavy reinforced hatch. Hinges adorned with blue pearls line the side of the hatch, accenting the heavy pure silver handle bolted into the oak framework.

a highly polished engraved bell of pure silver
Silver of the finest quality was molten and cast to form the bell on this galleon. The high importance for a deep tone to ring out for signaling, keeping time, and providing alarm was taken seriously in the caliber of metal used. A wide off-white, thickly knotted rope extends from a hook attached to the bottom of the bell's clapper, allowing a seaman to easily pull it back and forth for any purpose.
Small letters are engraved around the rim of the ship's bell.

Aft Waist

[The Dragon's Slave, Aft Waist]
Here the silver-hinged gangway is ever ready to release and secure the heavy mistwood boarding plank. The railings are carved with detailed scenes of dragons along their length, while overhead the vivid blue and white sails obscure the view to the top of the mizzen mast far above. A honeysuckle vine grows from a banded barrel placed out of the way, the plant flourishing despite the harsh elements it encounters.
You also see the mizzen upper topsail, the mizzen lower topsail and the crossjack.
Ship paths: forward, aft, down.

Fore Waist

[The Dragon's Slave, Fore Waist]
A mast rises up from the weathered mistwood deck here, sinuous dragons of inlayed silver decorating its length as it disappears into the rigging. The vivid blue and crisp white sails snap far up on the mast, caught in a high breeze. Animite detailed cleats are mounted along the bulwarks, polished to a lustrous shine.
You also see the main lower topsail, the main upper topsail and the main course.
Ship paths: forward, aft.

Bow

[The Dragon's Slave, Bow]
A sinuous dragon bowsprit writhes its scaled body up the keel, grasping the port gunnel with an animite-detailed claw and looking out ahead of the ship with its mouth agape as if to breathe fire to clear the way. A mistwood capstan with silver inlay is bolted securely to the deck for use in hauling up the anchor.
You also see the fore mast, the flying jib, the fore course, the fore topsail and a sturdy ebonwood hatch with engraved wolf pups and a heavy silver handle.
Ship paths: aft.

a sturdy ebonwood hatch with engraved wolf pups and a heavy silver handle
Slightly weathered from the elements, the heavy ebonwood hatch still closes tight. A heavy silver handle, kept polished to a bright shine by the crew, has been engraved with a howling wolf. Along the bottom of the hatch, a pack of young wolf pups has been carved into the dark wood, each depicted in a different frolicking pose.

Captain's Cabin

[The Dragon's Slave, Captain's Cabin]
A place to escape the elements in style, this lavish room has all the amenities for a comfortable life at sea. An elegant silverwood bed lies against one richly paneled wall, a rare witchclaw wood chest bolted to the floor near its foot. Under the gem-inlaid mistwood porthole, a wide silver-inlay white oak table is bolted to the deck, a comfortable chair sitting nearby.
You also see a weathered white oak door that leads to the quarterdeck.
Ship paths: none.

a weathered white oak door that leads to the quarterdeck
The white oak door is slightly higher and wider than most found on galleons. The extra height and width allow for all races of crew members to get through comfortably. Although salt air and sea spray have given the oak a weathered look, it only lends an air of substantial sturdiness to the grain. The door handle is forged from silver and is attached to the wood with silver screws.

a luxurious silverwood platform bed canopied with flowing gossamer netting
Made of the highest quality of silverwood found in Elanthia, this platform bed sits firmly on four hand carved legs. Billowy, sheer net panels of ivory gossamer drape gracefully over the thick featherbed from four points in the ceiling where animite hooks are attached. Thin, off-white satin ribbons flow down the sides of the gossamer, allowing the side panels to at times be tied back.

a richly paneled wall of finely worked mistwood and white oak
As lavish as the other adornments in the cabin, the wall is no exception. Rich mistwood has been framed with strips of fine grained white oak, and each panel is carved with a different landmark from around Elanthia. On one panel, a tiered city sprawls down cliffs to meet a breaking ocean, while another depicts a lush island with a sprawling city set high in the mists of the peak.

an elegant witchclaw seaman's chest with decorative rivets and thick side leather straps
Elegant in its workmanship, yet substantial enough to withstand the elements of sea life, this chest is a testament to master craftsmen. Beautiful hand-carved nautical scenes of sailing ships surround the top and four sides. The interior is fully lined in aromatic cedar wood. A large center silver hasp in the shape of a galleon is attached to the front. Two thick black leather buckle straps help keep the trunk secure.

a mistwood-framed porthole with gems inlaid into the wood to form a ship with ivory masts
This huge window is framed entirely with mistwood in a wave pattern around the glass. The wood chosen is expertly matched for its grain to be suitable just for a captain's cabin. Imbedded into the bottom frame of the porthole is a bejeweled four-masted ship with a black onyx body and flowing sails of the purest ivory combined with white pearls. A sea made of blue diamonds, with wave caps of sterling silver, surround the ship.

a long glass-topped carved white oak table inlaid with mother-of-pearl accents
This large, oval-shaped table is made from fine-grained white oak, carved by the finest artisans. The legs, engraved with tracings of various ships of the day, have silver used as mast accents. The top of the table is carved into a detailed battle scene of two galleons clashing amidst high waves. Smoking mangonels, sailors jumping overboard, and destroyed sails are seen in the picture. A mother-of-pearl border is set along the top. A glass covering is placed to protect underlying wood and carving.

Ship's Hold

[The Dragon's Slave, Ship's Hold]
This large area has small portholes near the overhead decking that allows for regular airings of the hold. Attached to the heavy timber beams are silver dragon-shaped hooks, each crafted in a different pose, perfect for storing an extra net or drying herbs before a long journey. A large storage chest, its front inlaid with an elaborate dragon scene, takes up part of the deck while a spidersilk cargo net is hung from floor to ceiling, creating storage space across the hull.
Ship paths: forward, up.

a spidersilk cargo net knotted with carved animite and silver beads
Made with intricate sailor knots tied to form a sturdy net capable of holding a large amount of weight safely, the soft spidersilk is also pleasing to the eye. Every few knots, a small carved bead of bright silver or lustrous animite has been added in, the tiny additions indicative of the attention to detail found throughout the rest of the ship.

Crafted from heavy reinforced mistwood, silver moldings cap each corner to help secure the chest when filled with a large quantity of goods. Wrought silver hinges secure the heavy engraved lid, depicting a stormy sea and galleon. The sides have been carved with equal care to depict a pair of dragons engaged in aerial combat, silver and animite highlighting details of the epic battle.

Ship's Galley

[The Dragon's Slave, Ship's Galley]
A comfortable nook to warm up in or grab a bite to eat at, the cozy room sports its own guard. Curled up on a coil of rope near the heavy cast iron stove is a mangy cat that looks up at you with its one good eye as you enter before curling back up to finish his nap. Attached to one wall is a heavy white oak table with built-in benches on either side, perfect for a large group of hungry sailors or for the lone Captain to kick up his feet and relax.
Ship paths: aft.

Heavy grey wrought iron stove is kept clean and well cared for by the crew. The top of the stove supports a pot of coffee which is always hot and fresh for those coming in out of the harsh elements. The front of the oven door has a wound silver handle and is deeply engraved with a curled dragon. A small side door stays partially open as a comfort to the mousing cat that usually sleeps nearby.

a heavy white oak table with an animite and silver dragon inlay
Used constantly as the crew begins and ends their watches, the heavy table is the perfect place to lay out large maps or feast upon exotic finds from the sea. A richly embellished top is a reminder of the high caliber of the ship, with a lithe silver dragon inlay down the length of the table, animite dust highlighting each small scale. A small shelf above the table holds spices, while hooks along the edge dangle the silver tankards for each crew member.

a built-in white oak bench with dragon engraved side panels
Butted against two walls with a third edge just under the table, this solid oak bench is a perfect fit to the small room. Carved along the side panels are various dragons, each poised as if to fly up onto the table, while a handful of comfortable cushions are stacked at the end for those wanting a little more padding than the hard seat provides.

Cabin

[The Dragon's Slave, Cabin]
Crafted in the space where the hull curves to the bow of the ship, the loud sounds of the ship seem to fade away. An ebonwood canopy feather bed is bolted to the deck along one wall, the carved headboard curved to fit snugly against the hull. A low handcrafted table, young wolf pups carved playfully into the legs, rests on a lush black silk carpet with an intricate scene of a silver dragon. A set of chairs are secured out of the way against the hull, ready to be pulled out when needed.
You also see a carved ebonwood door with playful wolf pups nipping at a sleepy-eyed dragon.
Ship paths: none.

a comfortable ebonwood canopy feather bed with wispy grey silk netting
Made to pamper those using it in style, the downy soft feathers in the bedding mat down perceptibly when rested upon. The four posts of the bed extend upward in regal fashion, each carved with various wolves running along the length. Forming the canopy is a large quantity of misty grey silk netting, the extra folds of fabric hanging down in soft cascades.

Elegantly designed to be useful for entertaining or work, the top of the table has a parquetry inlay of an elaborate sunburst, laid out with ebonwood, ivory and grey pearls. Carved into the heavy legs are playful wolf pups, each in a different state of mischief.

The rich-hued wood is elaborately carved with a detailed scene depicting a lithe curled dragon in the center of the door. The unusually patient beast is gazing at a group of playful wolf pups that all appear to be tugging fruitlessly on its thick tail.

Pilot

Pilot Sarahkyth, a Human
Tall of stature with very long sun-bleached blonde hair and piercing sky-blue eyes, this appears to be a woman who could easily defend herself should trouble ensue. She is wearing some worn seaman's pants with a tightly corseted dark blue bodice. A black bandana woven with silver threads is wrapped around her head. Darkly tanned muscular arms direct one's attention away from the fact that she has a large steel hook instead of a left hand placed on the wheel.
