Unlike conventional lace, wildlace is not crocheted, knitted, hand-knotted, or even stiffened and stitched. Instead, a special type of spider spins each piece in whole, ensuring that no two pieces are identical. Wildlace can be authenticated by looking for the small, but extremely durable, crystalline droplets left by the spiders at each joining point in the lace's pattern. Wildlace is never dyed, but is naturally tinted in a wide variety of colors during its creation.
Wildlace is a Hollow Eve exclusive material that premiered at Hollow Eve Festival 425 (2017).
Alteration Rules
This material is required for alterations.
- Existing pieces of wildlace cannot be dyed, and they must retain their original pattern and color -- even when used as fodder in other designs.
- For new wildlace creations, the wildling spider will need a pattern of what you want that is made out of cloth. (This is the actual item that will be altered.) Examples of cloth items that work as patterns are articles of clothing, containers, blankets, caparisons, prayer mats, etc. (It must be something you can carry with you; the wildling spider does not work on home furniture.)
- Wildlace is a delicate material and, as such, it is unsuitable for use on armor.
- Necromancers are unable to join the wildlace list, but friends can join the list in their stead.
