Special Spell Preps
If you go into the Exclusive Library at just before "morning" (based on the TIME verb) and wait near Fleintoore you will see a crimson-robed mage walk past.
>A crimson-robed mage arrives, makes a brief exchange with the Archmagus Fleintoore, then heads northwest.
A wide cowl covers his features, but from what you can tell about the crimson-robed mage, he has dark circles around both eyes and deeply tanned skin. This information is revealed only ever-so-briefly as he adjusts his position to read a particular tome, or gazes up at one of the four statues in the area. Edging his robe are black flames and various Warrior Mage sigils, but around his neck are several specifically Lunar accoutrements. Precisely to which of the two guilds he belongs is a mystery.
He is in the pay library, through a door. He will offer to sell you new spell prep messaging. The cost is 10 plat for spell preps associated with your guild and 50 plat to learn a spell prep from another guild. Preps 1, 2, and 3 are Warrior Mage preps, 4 is a Moon Mage prep, 5 is a Cleric prep, and 6 is a Necromancer prep. Paladins and Clerics cannot learn the Necromancer prep.
A crimson-robed mage whispers, "Quietly, now, <player race>. This is what I can offer you:"
- [10/50 plat lirums]) "Icy blue frost crackles up your arms with the ferocity of a blizzard as you begin to prepare the [spellname] spell!"
- [10/50 plat lirums]) "Heatless orange flames blaze between your fingertips as you prepare the [spellname] spell."
- [10/50 plat lirums]) "Tiny tendrils of lightning jolt between your hands as you prepare the [spellname] spell."
- [10/50 plat lirums]) "Your eyes and skin darken to black as a starless night as you prepare the [spellname] spell."
- [10/50 plat lirums]) "The wailing of lost souls accompanies your preparations of the [spellname] spell."
- [50 plat lirums]) "Your skin briefly withers and tightens, becoming gaunt as the energies of the [spellname] spell begin to build up through your body."
The mage continues in hushed tones. "If any of these interest you, we can make a deal. However, my knowledge is not cheap. If the technique is not one natural to your guild, it will cost fifty platinum lirums. If it is natural to your guild, the cost is a mere ten platinum lirums. The first three are Warrior Mage techniques, the fourth one is a Moon Mage technique, the fifth one is a Clerical technique, and the sixth and final one is a Necromancer's technique." He grows silent, then turns back to his books.
[If you wish to obtain one of these special PREP messages, ORDER <#> FROM MAGE. The <#> can be words (one, two, etc) or numeric values (1, 2, etc).]
