Khri

Overview

Khri (pronounced 'Kree') is a group of Thief Abilities that entail heightened concentration to increase awareness and body control.

• Khri is considered an in-game secret, but recent changes to Simutronics Forum policies allow it to be discussed openly on the Forums.
• Khri has previously been referred to as "cookies" to disguise the existance or naming of Khri.
• Each Khri is taught by an individual guild leader. Most Khri are taught by Crow, but other guild leaders have their own tricks.
• The term "Khri" is used for both singular and plural.
• Most Khri cannot be used at the same time as others, but a few Khri can be stacked with any other Khri. These include Support, Sight, and Spot.

Khri Commands

• To start a Khri, type KHRI <KHRI NAME>.
• To stop a Khri before it expires, type KHRI STOP. This will stop all active Khri.
• To see a list of all Khri available to the character, typ KHRI LIST

Khri Abilities

Support

Khri Support is the first khri learned. It increases the effectiveness and length of all other khri and likely has a very minor boosting effect on all Thief-related skills (lockpick, disarm, hide, stalk, steal, backstab). This Khri effects Concentration giving a random boost based off your Discipline stat up to a cap. The roundtime to activate this khri drops by 1 second for ever 10 circles, giving 0 seconds roundtime at 150th.
Messaging: You close your eyes and turn your thoughts inwards for a few moments while you take a series of deep slow breaths. When you reopen your eyes, you feel much sharper and better focused.

Safe

Khri Safe is used to get into locked and trapped objects (Safe refers to a container like a vault safe). It boosts Lockpicking skill, Disarm Traps skill, and Perception skill, and possibly Agility or other skills/attributes. Khri Safe can be stacked with all other Khri. It has the longest duration of all Khri.
Messaging: Turning your thoughts inward, you focus on your center until all inside you is still. Then you slowly allow your attention to shift to the world outside of you. You feel much more alert and aware.

Sidestep

Used in combat to aid in evading opponents attacks. It increases Evasion skill and Multi Opponent skill.
Messaging: Taking slow deep breaths you focus on the core of your awareness, feeling the power within it grow. Then slowly you allow that energy to flow out into your body until every nerve sings and every muscle feels like a tensed spring.

Silence

Khri Silence makes its user invisible. Many things can bring a person out of invisibility (attacking or being attacked, picking up coins, etc.), but Khri Silence has the unique feature of pulling the user back into invisibilty if possible. Khri Silence likely offers a small boost to Stealing skill, Hiding skill, and Stalking skill. Since it greatly increases the users stealth compared to an opponent's perception, Khri Silence also greatly improves success in Backstabbing.

Strike

Increases the likelihood and effectiveness of a single backstab attack. The duration is short, so the attack must be done within a minute or so of starting the Khri.
Messaging: Focusing intently, you feel the power within you like water behind a dam. With diamond hard concentration you feel that power building as you prepare for that one perfect strike.

Snipe

Increases the likelihood and effectiveness of a single Ranged attack. The duration is short, so the attack must be done within a minute or so of starting the Khri. The effect is greatest with crossbow weapons, less with bow weapons, and less with thrown weapons.

Senses

Khri Senses allows its user to watch all action in an adjacent room. While active the user cannot type anything or it will disrupt the Khri. Usage is KHRI SENSES <DIRECTION>. Valid directions are all obvious room exits. This Khri cannot be used through portals, such as doors, stairs, etc.

Sight

Allows user to see in dark areas that otherwise require a light source. Boosts Perception skill and probably Lockpicking skill and Disarm Traps skill. Can be stacked with all other Khri.
Messaging: Closing your eyes for a moment, you focus your mental strength, blocking out senses and enhancing another until it fills your mind. With clarity of thought, you manage to enhance your vision.

Spot

Allows the user to spot creatures and characters in hiding without having to search. Has unusual side effect of preventing the user from leading a group (the group will be left behind). Can be stacked with all other Khri.
Messaging: Reaching deep into your subconscious, you focus your attention on the minute details of the world around you, enabling you to quickly determine what facets of your surroundings might lend themselves well to hidden friends and foes.
