| RECITE <text> You see: You recite: RECITE <line 1>;<line 2> RECITE <text> (while hidden or invisible) |
Syntax
- RECITE <TEXT>
- Recites the supplied text aloud. Separate lines with semicolons.
Unlike SING, RECITE does not accept an emote such as "wistfully" or "angrily" to alter the delivery.
Game Helpfile
You can recite by using the RECITE command followed by your verses.
Separate each verse line by a semicolon. For example:
RECITE Come O human child; To the wood and waters wild...
** NOTE: **
This command should not be used to attract attention, and using it
solely for that is considered abuse of it. An example of abuse
is to RECITE that you are selling a sword, or that you have
injuries needing tending. Use of RECITE in this manner is
considered disruptive to the DragonRealms RolePlaying environment.
Usage Notes
- A long recital is cut short when the speaker runs out of air. The speaker sees You just can't recite that many verses without stopping for air!
- In clients that treat semicolons as command separators, escape each semicolon according to the client's syntax. In Genie, place a backslash before each semicolon, such as first line\;second line.
Example
RECITE Phelim, give me strength for my righteous vengeance;Chadatru, guide my sword to swing in justice;Everild, give me the power to conquer my enemies;Truffenyi, let me not lose sight of compassion and mercy;Else, I will become like those I despise;Urrem'tier, receive into your fetid grasp these wicked souls;May Tamsine's realms never know their evil ways again
