Interactions

Study

You've overheard others asking Serdal about a number of topics, including enchanting, disenchanting, process, choose, grade, finish, and color.

Ask Serdal about Process

Serdal says, "I'm not very experienced yet, but I can empower your equipment with an enchant of your choice -- the ones I'm comfortable working with that is."

He continues, "I cannot work on gear that is already enchanted, unless I was the one who enchanted it. Also, a piece of gear may only have a single enchant on it. If it is otherwise special in some way, I also may not be able to work with the it. Things such as screaming weapons, chippers, and racially attuned gear are likely beyond my talents. It is what it is."

Serdal concludes, "Simply hold the piece you wish me to evaluate in your right hand, ask about Enchanting, Grade, and Color, and we'll go from there. If you wish to remove an enchant that I placed on an item, you can ask about disenchanting."

Without Equipment In Hand

Asking about any of the other options without an appropriate item in hand results in: Novice Binder Serdal shakes his head and says, "No, sorry. You must hold the weapon or armor piece you wish me to evaluate in your right hand."

Ask Serdal about Enchanting

Novice Binder Serdal says, "Of course. I offer the following." He unrolls a parchment scroll for you to peruse:

Ask Serdal about Disenchanting

With an item that's not enchanted:

Novice Binder Serdal squints at <item> and then stares blankly at you as he says, "There's no enchantment on the <item>."

With an enchanted item:
???

Ask Serdal about Grade

Novice Binder Serdal says, "Of course. I offer the following." He unrolls a parchment scroll for you to peruse:
Flare Grade
  1. One
  2. Two
  3. Three
  4. Four
Novice Binder Serdal says, "The grade of an enchantment can enhance the chance for a flare to occur as well as the magnitude of the effect manifested, if you are sufficiently trained for the particular grade. If you need more information than that, I suggest seeking advice from more skilled adventurers than myself."

Ask Serdal about Finish

If you have not started working on your item:

Novice Binder Serdal appears confused. "I'm sorry, had we been discussing your <item>? Perhaps we should begin again."

If you have not chosen a Grade:

Novice Binder Serdal shakes his head. "You haven't yet selected a grade. Take care to ensure you're skilled enough for your selection for best results."

If you have not chosen a Color:

Novice Binder Serdal shakes his head. "You haven't yet selected a color. I caution that not all enchants may manifest colors, but it is still a part of the process I must complete."

If you have not chosen an Enchantment:

Novice Binder Serdal shakes his head. "You haven't yet selected an enchant. That's the most important part of it all!"

If all selections have been made:

Novice Binder Serdal takes a moment to review his notes and asks, "Right, all seems to be in order. You want the <Enchantment> enchant for your <item>, grade <#>, and the color <color> for any colored manifestations the enchant may allow -- correct?" He pauses and adds, "It will cost 400 LTB points if you agree."
[Please carefully review the information above. If it is right, repeat the command within 30 seconds. If you proceed, the result is final and will not be changed or refunded.]

Atmospherics

  • Novice Binder Serdal muses, "Yalda ain't got nothin' on those blasted Enchanting trainers. I'll go broke before they're satisfied with my lessons, surely!"
  • Novice Binder Serdal glances about with a disoriented expression.
  • Novice Binder Serdal examines a vial of crystalline shards and sighs while shaking his head.
  • Serdal rubs his neck as he tilts it slowly from side to side and muses, "Saying 'no' all the time is painful. Literally."
  • Novice Binder Serdal mutters to himself.
  • Novice Binder Serdal proclaims, "Interested in adding a magical effect to your mundane weapons and armor? I may be able to help!"

Flare Messaging

This example was with a plum color choice, and a glitter flare type:

Your <armor> begins to grow warm.
Your <armor> effuse, sending some plum glitter towards a <creature>!
Your glitter lands an extremely splashing hit to a <creature>!

Weapons

This example is with a blood-red color choice, and a fire level 4 flare type:

The <weapon> blazes blood-red, blazing forth a wall of flames and lands a strong hit to the <creature>'s left arm.

Notes

These notes may be deleted later, but during the initial release period they may be useful to track.
