Overview
Prediction is a Moon Mage-only page type is::ability which allows us alter our effective ranks in certain skills (Skills which we are unable to learn are not effected as far as I know) based on our observations of the heavens and our effective ranks in Astrology. Of course if you try to use this skill indoors you better be at a telescope or you will fail to make a observation.
*Starting out a player can use two specific types of predictions without having to make use of tools.
**PREDICT WEATHER is useful to us since we cannot make observations so easily when our skys are completely overcast, or if you happen to use a musical instrument then you will know ahead of time if you should pack up so that you do not damage your equipment.
**PREDICT FUTURE {Character} {Skill set} is used in order to give prediction of a specific skill set (Offense, Defense, Lore, Survival, Magic).
***A player must at least make an observation of a specific heavenly body in order to make use of an observation. Please refer to a star chart or your own observations of the stars in order to get an idea of what will be effected during a prediction.
***There is a three minute hidden timer on predictions for filling a prediction pool. This can be easiest watch by casting a Piercing Gaze at 9 mana. Once it wears off you should be able to do one again.
**PREDICT STATE (Skill set) Evaluates how much you have learned toward performing an observation based prediction. Valid options are Defense, Event, Lore, Magic, Offense and Survival. Pool size range from no understanding to complete understanding.
***There are nine different understanding rates at which i have found. They are as follows listed from least to greatest: no understanding, weak understanding, feeble understanding, decent understanding, significant understanding, potent understanding, insightful understanding, powerful understanding, complete understanding.
**PREDICT ANALYZE (person)Evaluates the target's aura to determine what kind of predictions are affecting him. (person) is optional and will target yourself if not used.

PREDICT FUTURE <person> <skillset> - Gives the target a cryptic vision about his immediate future, which may effectively amplify or curse one of his skills. Valid options for <skillset> are Defense, Lore, Magic, Offense and Survival.

General Use:<br>
PREDICT ANALYZE <person> - Evaluates the target's aura to determine what kind of predictions are affecting him. <person> is optional and will target yourself if not used.<br>

Events
*Requires 10th circle. Learned by having an event predicted on you by another Moon Mage with this ability.
*Predicting on other guilds will sometimes result in visions related to their guilds that would otherwise be unavailable.
*The event pool fills drastically faster at night.
*The chance of a successful prediction is related to how full the pool is, but since there is no round time for a failed attempt the command can be spammed until a prediction is successful.
*A decent source of astrology experience, both from the studies and the prediction itself.

You focus inwardly searching for insight into your future.
As your vision clears you see an Elf lecturing a group of students, gesticulating wildly at a variety of star charts and divination tools. A cracked and bloodied sandstone bowl lies next to an unconscious and bleeding student. A fierce growl comes from the east, followed by the sound of breaking glass and a muffled cry.

Future
*See Visions for full mechanics.
*A very good source of astrology experience, also teaches some scholarship and perception.

Analyze
*Attempts to view the active predictions on the target. Contests Astrology and Power Perception vs target's circle, strength and number of predictions.
*Both Distant Gaze and particullarly Aura Sight are useful in this skill since they bonus the relevant skills.
*Roundtime generally increased with the number of predictions, but fairly random.
*Inaccuracy only exists without power/duration readings and will increase with skill but almost always remain to some degree. This can actually be useful through multiple uses to get a general sense of where the prediction lies within the range.
*Detects boosts from a Celestial Jewelry enchantment as if they were a prediction.
*A very good source of astrology experience and a decent source of power perception experience. Will only teach if at least one prediction is active, and experience is constant beyond that. The timer is about 100 seconds.

Align Ability
Source
*Indicates the source of the prediction.
The ALIGN verb can be learned after a Moon Mage advances to the circle requirement::4th circle however it involves a quest in order to make it useful.
*Third level of success will indicate the race:
*Once learned a character should ALIGN {Skill} in order to make a more accurate prediction involving the skill.
An Elven woman stands in the background, watching.<br>
*The Moon Mage can also choose to curse a target purposely by using ALIGN.
*Fourth level of success will grant the name (strangely familiar indicates your own prediction):
An Elven woman stands immediately before you. You recognize the figure as Caelumia.<br>
*This can also indicate the source as a Celestial Jewelry enchantment, and it's relative power:

A small constellation shines overhead.<br>
A brilliant array of stars gleams overhead.<br>

Shamans and seers use the arrangement of the bones as they fall on the ground to predict what will come. First created by the shamans of the Arid Steppe as a means to scry the future, carved and enchanted bones have been used for countless years and are among the oldest known type of divination tool. Part astrology, and part mysticism, there are some Nomads who believe that the power of the bones lies in their connection with the dead, while others insist that it is the enchantment process, through which the bones are imbued with magic properties, that gives them their unique properties. A seer, properly trained to observe celestial bodies, tosses the bones on the ground before them and reads their seemingly random placement, often with uncanny insight.

Traditionally carved from a single piece of sandstone and etched with the mysterious sigils only Moon Mages seem to understand, scrying bowls are used by mages trained in astrology as a tool for divination. It is said that the first bowls were filled with water from the Garden of G'Nar Peth, though whether that is a legend held by the Prophets themselves or merely a tale told by outsiders is unclear.

Weather
;*Celestial Charts
*Requires the mage to be under the open skies.
:A collection of star maps, charts, calculations and algorithms, some vellum celestial charts are used by Moon Mages as a divination tool. Most often used by those of the Celestial Compact, the charts take an unusually logical approach to fortunetelling. By studying the current positions of heavenly bodies and plotting out their course, mages are able to determine how the movements of the stars will affect future events.
*With sufficent skill the mage will be able to predict further into the future and with an increasing degree of certainty. Each line represents roughly 10 minutes into the future.
*Can be performed in the astral plane to get a general idea of how the microcosm is changing.
*Teaches a small amount of astrology, useful at low levels of skill.

You gaze at the heavens, taking careful note of the current weather. You sense the weather will progress as follows:<br>
;*Sapphire Prism
You predict that light rains are on the way.<br>
:Favored by the Monks of the Crystal Hand, the prism is a divination tool used by Moon Mages. As the prism spins on its chain, the mage interprets the patterns of colors and fractures to determine what the future holds. It is fitting that a group devoted to perfection and the identification of personal flaws would excel at predicting what is to come by studying how such colors and fractures echo from the hidden flaws of the crystal.

:Designed after the legendary mirror used by Tezirah, this mirror is a scrying tool used by Moon Mages. Detractors claim that all such mirrors should be destroyed, some because they worry that Tezirah went mad while scrying, others simply to remove the Guild's association with the magess. Others are quick to disagree, pointing out that the mirrors themselves hold the same properties as other divination tools, while some, most notably the mages who call themselves the Progeny of Tezirah, consider their use to be a show of respect for a mage who, despite her legendary actions, was by all accounts a most skilled and powerful seer.

*Made easier through use of Clear Vision, Aura Sight and a Telescope.
*Piercing Gaze and Telescopes will help reduce cloud cover.
*Not all observations are equal, but they're fairly close so if you can successfully observe it's not worth obsessing over squeezing out every last drop of bonus.
*Some objects (And all planets) require a telescope to observe at all.
*The best telescopes are stationary in guildhalls, Kssarh's telescope at One West is the best in Elanthia.
*Star charts includes a list of what areas each object teaches and the circles they are learned at.

*Sandstone Bowl, favored by the Prophets of G'Nar Peth.
*Commands: Study sky, Predict Event {Character}
*Celestial Charts, favored by the Celestial Compact.

*Sapphire Prism, favored by the Monks of the Crystal Hand.
**It is also possible that event predictions are more likely at night then during day however I lack the information to assume it.
