Forging Factor is a player-created term to describe one's aptitude for forging metal weapons and armor.
The weapon and armor forging factors are now obsolete. (Equipment ranks no longer affect smithing.)
Formulas
The generalized forging factor formula for weapons is:
(Assuming F is a set representing the other weapons in the family)
An example using Twohanded Edged skill as the weapon being forged:
- Example calculation for 2HE:
- (6*2HE + HE + ME + LE + ML)/10
- (6*250 + 212 + 161 + 161 + 176)/10 = 221
The generalized forging factor formula for armor is:
- Sample calculation for HP:
- (6*HP + 3*LP + ML)/10
- (6*312 + 3*233 + 176)/10 = 274.7
Skill Families
The weapon families are:
- Light Edged, Medium Edged, Heavy Edged, Twohanded Edged
- Light Blunt, Medium Blunt, Heavy Blunt, Twohanded Blunt
- Short Staff, Quarter Staff, Pikes, Halberds
The armor families are:
- Light Chain and Heavy Chain
- Light Plate and Heavy Plate
