Misdilev Allvar
Status: Dead
Guild: Trader
Race: Elf
Gender: Male
Relatives: Keirnen (son), Lindryl, Emmilyn, Mirelle (ex-wife)

Former head of the Allvar family on M'riss and ruler for the island.

Father of Keirnen. His former wife is Mirelle. Rumored to be the father of Aedem.

Appearance

He has alert grey eyes set in his leathery, sea-tanned face.
A thin white scar -- nearly faded with time -- is discernable slashing from his right temple, crossing the bridge of his nose, and ending at his lower left jawline.
He has delicately pointed ears and neatly trimmed silver hair streaked with dark brown strands.
A dolphin triskel is tattoo'd on the inside of his left wrist. Despite his age, he exudes the grace and confidence of a stalking caracal.
He appears to be old for an Elf.
He is holding a smooth cedar staff topped with a carved peccary head in his left hand.
He is wearing a kyanite gwethdesuan, a jadeite gwethdesuan, a flowing hooded cloak of roughly cut caracal fur lined with soft cotton, a small pewter medal, a frayed sack, some battered leather sandals with frayed straps, an ankle-length black linen hac inexpertly embroidered around the hem and sleeves with a pattern of peccaries dancing around a rearing war mammoth and a leather case tooled with a dolphin triskel.

Appearance at the Memorial

You see Misdilev Allvar, an Elf.
He has alert grey eyes set in his leathery, pale face. A thin white scar -- nearly faded with time -- is discernible slashing from his right temple, crossing the bridge of his nose, and ending at his lower left jawline. He has delicately pointed ears and shoulder length faded silver hair pulled back by a loop of Elven silver. A faded tattoo of a dolphin triskel is inked on the inside of his left wrist. Despite his condition, he still carries himself with grace and confidence.
Time and tide have taken their toll, leaving the elderly Elf in frail condition.
He is in good shape.

He is holding a smooth cedar staff topped with faceted yellow sapphire in his right hand.
He is wearing a flowing hooded dark silk cloak lined with a contrasting silk, an enameled medallion-shaped clasp surrounded by a pleated black ribbon, a pewter service medal, a white linen shirt with a row of carved ebony buttons, a leather case tooled with a dolphin triskel, a frayed sack, a pair of pleated blue-black wool trousers and some muted black leather dress shoes.

Death

410 years, 169 days since the Victory of Lanival the Redeemer, Misdelev's passing was sensed:

  • A meteor streaks across the sky as Misdilev's soul departs forever to walk the Starry Road.

Misdilev passed away at the Rest of Ages Inn in Leth Deriel. He died, walked, then faded. Most likely of old age, as he was rather sick at the Ulf'Hara services.

Post about the Rissan government, by DR-MERIEL, 6 August 2005

The Rissan government is wildly different (emphasize wild) than Zoluren's. I would describe Misdilev more as Mafia Don than "prince" -- unless you were referring to a prince of a Venetian city-state during the Renaissance :;grins:: People on the mainlaind who know who Misdilev and Keirnen are and their position in Rissan hierarchy may refer to them as "prince" and "lord" but their actual preferences are simply "sir" and "Captain Allvar" since the fewer people who know who and what you are, the less likely it is there's a knife coming from the shadows to stick in your back.

In addition, I've always encouraged more player-direct leadership on M'Riss and Mer'Kresh than GM-led directed. Players selected their own commanders and ambassadors in the last war. That worked with mixed success, but wasn't so awful that I want to give up on the concept. So, the short answer is "no" -- M'Riss and Mer'Kresh will not follow Zoluren's government, it wouldn't make any sense for it to. That doesn't mean we may not eventually get more player-usable tools and opportunities to support the system we do have, but it won't be a traditional feudal nobility set up.
