===Returning to the Sea=== |
⚫ | |||
Having stepped down from his role as Speaker with the Tavern Troupe Performing Order, Kasto spent most of his time drunkenly sailing around Elanthia and hunting treasure with Anjinson. Eventually, even his partner in treasure lost contact with him. Sightings of the Rakash grew from infrequent to not at all, leaving many to wonder what else he may be up to in his travels. |
You also see a sturdy stacked stone cabin with a sign saying "Gone Fishing!" hanging on the front door. |

Having resurfaced for a time, Kasto allowed a second interview to take place and also reach circulation. It has been likewise placed here for your viewing please. |
===Interior=== |
A supple blacktip sharkskin mat adorns the golden sand floor of this small room. A small firepit made up of an arrangement of moss covered stones, with a sun-bleached shark's jaw hanging above it, rests between a narrow rotted boat and a salt-stained captain's desk carved with sea creatures pushed up against the driftwood walls. The room holds a mild scent of sea spray. You also see a drowned sailor, a thick port hole window and a driftwood sailor's footlocker with scrimshaw nautical scenes with several things on it. |

Draped with dripping seaweed, the insubstantial form glows a faint blue-green. His skin is a pale shade, almost white and open sores cover its face and exposed flesh. |

The teeth have been removed from the predator's gigantic mouth and instead decorate the flattened tail like a mosaic. |

===Wall=== |
Despite being bleached by the sun and horribly warped during an unknown amount of time spent adrift at sea, the boards serve as adequate covering for a home interior. A myriad of cubbyholes are built straight into the wall, providing storage for a plethora of various items and supplies. Strange stains and other obvious battle damage lend to the impression that these boards may not have been willingly tossed into the water. |

*On the driftwood wall you see a sun-bleached shark's jaw, a deep blue silk wall panel painted with crashing ocean waves, a stuffed swordfish, a ship's wheel and a glass fishing buoy. |
⚫ | |||
*In the driftwood wall you see a padded leather libation caddy hung from a woven grass strap, a bloodwood shell collector's case with inlaid ivory and jade shells, a wicker tackle box, a wicker fisherman's creel decorated with fish skulls and feathered lures, a polished sana'ati fishing box inlaid with mother-of-pearl fish and an oilcloth bait bag with double-stitched steelsilk seams. |
===Desk=== |
A variety of aquatic life converge on a large tropical reef which sprawls across the front of the furniture, the carvings warped and faded by submersion in salty water. A pitted iron knob, cast in the shape of an anchor, adorns the wide drawer along the underside and allows for easy access to writing implements stored safely inside. While being horribly marred by an unknown amount of time spent adrift at sea, the desk still remains serviceable as a sturdy surface for working upon. |
*On the captain's desk you see a long-stemmed ivory pipe carved with sinuous sea serpents, a grey metal letter opener with a salt pitted blade and a ebonwood handle, a cartographer's geometry compass trimmed in silver leaf, a creamy albatross feather quill with a metal nib, a squat glass inkwell with brass feet, a battered brass cartographer's spyglass, some driftwood, a fossilized nautilus-shell paperweight, a large map of the five provinces, a driftwood jewelry box, a heavy stoneware whiskey jug and a square garnet-trimmed fishbowl. |
*In the captain's desk you see a navigator's logbook bound in sun-bleached canvas, a salt-stained tome bound in green leather with "Courses" on the spine and a book bound in black leather titled "Battle of the Reshal Sea". |
*Under the captain's desk you see a wooden peg-leg, a khor'vela wood keg shaped like a great four masted galleon at full sail, a blue leather case embossed with a stylized rendition of a female Merelew, a teak bolt box engraved with the image of a large galleon, a sailor's mending kit, an iron-bound treasure chest, a cedar mariner's case with a galleon-shaped lock and a grey sharkskin cartographer's toolbag clasped with a brass compass rose. |
===Boat=== |
Carved along side this boat made into a bed is the name "Last Chance." Last chance for what is not readily apparent. A ragged pillow and a thread-bare blanket make up the rest of this make-shift bed. |
*On the rotted boat you see a blue stuffed shark and a large stuffed sea turtle. |
*Under the rotted boat you see a wardrobe trunk secured with heavy leather straps. |
===Fireplace=== |
Detailed with soft, realistic-looking fake moss on the outside, the silvery-grey rocks have been smoothed for safety. |
===Stand=== |
Set with a solid base, the dark stand rises up to three sets of bars, providing spaces for multiple pieces of armor to be stored. |
*On the dragonwood stand you see a shark skull mask, a boat plank shield, some rigging gloves, some salt-stained leathers with a skull and crossbones flag embossed on the left bicep, a sailor's oilskins and some fishscale armor. |
===Rack=== |
Tiered from a large base shelf up to a smaller one, the dark wood has been smoothed along each shelf and left natural on the outer edges. Smoothly lining the edges, gold filigree creates an elegant vine design that branches off into tiny trumpet-shaped flowers. |
*On the dragonwood rack you see a barnacle encrusted scimitar, a corroded anchor chain, a scrimshaw-handled fillet knife veined with ox-blood coral, an admiral's cutlass with a fancifully engraved hilt, a curved bronze dagger with a twisted narwhal horn handle, a long-bladed falchion with a half-basket hilt, a broken boat oar, a scrimshaw marlinspike and a pirate's scimitar tied with a black silk scarf. |
===Footlocker=== |
Broad sections of sun-bleached bone are affixed to a sturdy driftwood frame using a seaworthy adhesive, creating this large piece of ship's luggage. Each of the square shaped plates are scrimshawed with a tiny scene showing the daily activities aboard a vessel and the hardships of sea life. Salt-pitted iron bands reinforce the footlocker against damage, engraved with images of merfolk and sea serpents. |
Perfectly fitting the village of Fever Point, Kasto's home is a prominent feature to the area. Choosing to decorate with knick knacks and junk collected from the beach around the cabin, it's really no wonder why Kasto himself refers to it as his "fishing shack." |
*On the sailor's footlocker you see a porcelain plate painted with the figure of Eluned, a sapphire-eyed cambrinth pirate, an oval of iridescent mother-of-pearl, some heavy rope knots, a white shark's tooth, a dried yellow starfish, a detailed cameo ring carved with the likeness of a merelew woman, a shark's tooth suspended from a braided cord and some blackened shark's teeth. |
Kasto's Home |
*In the sailor's footlocker you see a wardrobe trunk secured with heavy leather straps, an admiral's sailcloth backpack adorned with gleaming brass buttons, a whip-thin electric eel, some miniature golden tridents, some miniature cutlasses, a driftwood jewelry box, a sailor's mending kit, some miniature undead pirate mice, a pair of crisp white gloves, an admiral's tricorne hat, a blue suede pouch accented by a beaded seagull feather, a rugged leather bandolier, a teak bolt box engraved with the image of a large galleon, a circular hat box, a salt-stained burlap lootsack, a polished sea pebble bracelet, a pair of heavy black boots with steel buckles, a rust-colored admiral's greatcoat with embroidered cuffs, a leather sheath with bronze banding around the mouth, a silvery-blue sailcloth boat cloak fastened with four silver buttons, some reinforced sharkskin pants with rough leather lacing, a wooden peg-leg and a black cotton booty bag with braided leather drawstrings. |

History
Early Years
Kasto really has no idea who his parents are. His earliest memory is of waking up on the beaches of M'Riss, where he spent many of his youngest years. His love for the sea and desire to see beyond the volcanic rock spurred him to join various crews departing from the Wharf's End.
It is believed that while serving with one of these crews that he first crossed paths with the Red Sash. He claims that the pirates followed him back to his home where was captured and taken aboard one of their vessels as a personal slave to the Captain. Working his way up through their ranks, he eventually secured a position on a looting vessel assigned to pillage conquered vessels after skirmishes.
A Life of Sailing
The details of his escape are unknown, but somehow he returns to the island of M'Riss with a vessel of his own. A nearly wrecked schooner which many thought mere salvage material, but Kasto saw life in the grey-ing timber and named it the Raw Deal.
The weather-beaten schooner was used for a few years to haul supplies for the Rissans and also as a looting vessel after naval battles. He began picking up crews in Hara'jaal which landed him in some trouble with the pirate clans and he quickly abandoned this practice, choosing to stick with his fellow Rissan sailors.
Moving to the Mainland
Having amassed a deal of wealth, Kasto was left with what to do with it all. He was able to persuade the Administrator of Orders of his honest business tactics and commitment to excellence which lead to him being given an exciting opportunity, the chance to re-open the Tavern Troupe Performing Order.
In order to facilitate this, the young Rakash thrust himself into the social life among the mainlanders. Taking both a citizenship with the Province of Zoluren and attending regular Crossings town meetings.
Life in Crossings
His schooner has not been seen at the standard ports, and he now regularly claims crew positions aboard various ships. At some point in time, he acquired ownership of another vessel. Details about how he did this are unknown, but he has been confirmed as the owner and captain of a cog by the name of the Black Storm.
Recently, a publication was put into circulation which featured an interview with the mysterious Kasto. It has been placed here for your viewing pleasure.
Returning to the Sea
Having stepped down from his role as Speaker with the Tavern Troupe Performing Order, Kasto spent most of his time drunkenly sailing around Elanthia and hunting treasure with Anjinson. Eventually, even his partner in treasure lost contact with him. Sightings of the Rakash grew from infrequent to not at all, leaving many to wonder what else he may be up to in his travels.
Having resurfaced for a time, Kasto allowed a second interview to take place and also reach circulation. It has been likewise placed here for your viewing please.
A Pirates Life
As he became a more frequent figure around Zoluren, a mysterious book appeared on the shelves of the local library. Though it did not name him outright, the characters and places depicted were obviously taken from his past. The validity of the claims presented here have never been fully verified. Witness claim that Kasto himself destroys these books on sight and is currently paying handsomely for any copies remaining.

Kasto's Home
Perfectly fitting the village of Fever Point, Kasto's home is a prominent feature to the area. Choosing to decorate with knick knacks and junk collected from the beach around the cabin, it's really no wonder why Kasto himself refers to it as his "fishing shack."
