A flying carpet allows the rider to bypass ordinary climbing and swimming checks. The carpet can only reach destinations that are accessible by foot, so it cannot be used to cross the sea. Carpets will follow you around as long as you are in a room where getting on a mount is possible. If it can't follow you, it will go to the pet storage room until you can be followed, to prevent it getting deleted by the room unloading. Note that it can take up to or in excess of a real life minute to follow.

These are considered to be "rare items" and have thus far been limited to auctions, raffles and microtransaction event loot.

Syntax

To Mount

  • DROP CARPET: To drop the carpet on the ground.
Mechanically there are no advantages to DROPPING your carpet.
Your carpet is vulnerable to loss when DROPPED until it is UNROLLED.
  • LOWER GROUND <RIGHT/LEFT>: To lower your carpet to your at feet inventory slot.
Mechanically superior to DROP. You should always LOWER your carpet to the ground rather than DROPPING it.
Since your carpet never leaves your personal inventory when LOWERED it is protected from loss.
  • UNROLL CARPET: To ready the carpet for flight. This command puts your carpet in the room. You may UNROLL a carpet that is at your feet or on the ground.
  • MOUNT CARPET: To mount your carpet.

To Dismount

  • DISMOUNT CARPET: To dismount your carpet.
  • ROLL CARPET: To roll it up for storage. This command puts your carpet at your feet.

Mounted

  • COMMAND CARPET TO {SLOW|GLIDE|SKIM|FLY}
SLOW moves you one room at a time like normal.
GLIDE, SKIM, and FLY increasingly try to move as many rooms as they can in the general direction.
