Salesroom

[The Weight of Memory, Salesroom]
A profound, velvety silence hangs within this chamber, muffled by heavy tapestries of charcoal-grey wool that drape the uneven stone walls. The air is cool and still, carrying the parched scent of ancient dust and the faint, resinous tang of oil used to polish the denser ores. Glowing crystals, shrouded in layers of translucent silk to soften their brilliance, cast a ghostly, amber-hued light across the merchandise, ensuring every shadow falls with purpose. To one side, a heavy granite counter sits scarred by years of transactions, while the remainder of the space is occupied by totems and steles. A small plaque hangs above the counter.
You also see Thrumgrin and a rough-hewn stone passage.
Obvious exits: none.

A small plaque reads:

Decorations

Counter

A fine, almost imperceptible layer of grey stone-meal coats the surfaces here, adding to its aged look.

Totems

Clustered on felt-topped plinths of basalt, several totems carved from heavy metamorphic rock seem to absorb the dim light. Figures of stoic bears, watchful owls, and intricate geometric knots look as though they were coaxed from the stone rather than forced, their surfaces polished to a dull, satin sheen.

Steles

Leaning against the back wall are several massive steles of dark slate and limestone. Their faces are crowded with meticulous genealogies and epic verses, the shallow relief-work capturing the play of shadow from the crystals.
