Description: The Soul Attrition spell is an ominous invocation that may pose threat to caster and target alike. As long as you sustain it with mana, the spell's matrix will cause your spirit energy and that of your victim to clash and collide, abrading one another until the matrix fails or one of the two falls deceased. Never, ever cast this spell upon the Undead -- you will quickly feed it with your own life force! Great care must be taken with this power.
Effect: Slice damage, Cold damage, Spirit damage, Shield-ignoring single target.
Example Messaging: You gesture.

You turn to face a goblin shaman.
You gesture at a goblin shaman.
You sense the arrival of a dark presence.

Roundtime: 2 sec.

Your spirit lashes out at a goblin shaman!
The essence shatters through the goblin shaman's aura, tearing mercilessly at its spirit as it crumples under the force of your onslaught.
You are barely harmed by the clash.
A goblin shaman grows deathly pale!
A goblin shaman sinks to the ground in a rustle of cloth and covers its face with the hood of its cloak. Slowly the movements of the cloaked creature stop.
A glowing stick shatters into a million glittering splinters.
The shimmering ethereal shield fades from around a goblin shaman.

You sense the dark presence depart.

Notes

  • If the caster becomes stunned, unconcious, or immobilized then the spell will not cause damage if it triggers during those states.
  • Breaks all Vigil links on both the target and the caster on each pulse.
  • Defaults to the target you are facing if cast without a target.
