Let's Do the Glyph of Warding Again · on 12/08/2020 21:32 211
After some persistent bug squishing, Glyph of Warding's functioning changed slightly.

As a reminder, last year Glyph of Warding was rewritten to function primarily as a favor-cost reducer on depart options. This essentially allowed the DEPART ITEMS option, which had outmoded the previous function of the glyph, to be bought on death "for free" in addition to other options being cheaper. The old glyph was still preserved in cases where the target had so few favors they could not pay for that, or chose not to deal with it with DEPART GRAVE and DEPART COINS.

This was confusing in some cases, in addition to causing some bugs between the old function and the new function, so, while this change is a bit dramatic it is an overall improvement except for one edge case.

  1. The old warding glyph function is gone. You no longer leave a glyph that can go pop with any type of depart option.
  2. Instead, you will always retain your items on depart regardless of whether the option you chose would allow it or not. So, Glyph of Warding overrides DEPART GRAVE or zero-favor DEPART options.
  3. DEPART COINS is now treated as DEPART FULL if you have Glyph of Warding on. The price remains at 2 favors after discount and you retain your items. This is an edge-case nerf for Paladins that were DEPART COINS-ing with the Glyph for a two-favor reduction of the cost of services rather than one.

This is live in Prime and Platinum for now. Please let me know if there are any further bugs, questions, etc.
