Description: Blood Burst is one of the more violent manifestations of Blood Magic, turning a small portion of the magician's blood into a deadly explosive. While this pattern is capable of ripping out the blood necessary for the effect to take place, it is less stressful on the caster if they are already bleeding, either from a wound or from a ritual cut. The shock of Blood Burst's explosion is quite something to behold, kinetic force mixed with violent necromancy, and often staggers those who are hit by the spell.
Effect: Impact damage, Fire damage, Balance reduction
Example Messaging: You swipe your fingertips over your hand, collecting blood on them.

Your ritualistic cut dries up completely.
You sense your magic mutate the blood with terrifying power and, with a simple flick of your wrist, send the incarnadine droplets hurtling towards a hulking black barghest!
Whorls of crimson fury erupt as the incarnadine droplets burst immediately on contact with the hulking black barghest's back, the explosive force of one causing chain reactions in others that charbroil significant portions of the back.
The force of your spell knocks a hulking black barghest flat!
The hulking black barghest is severely stunned!
Roundtime: 1 sec.

Devices/Tattoos: Baroque ivory wand inlaid with vengeance rubies

Notes

  • Blood Burst will always drain vitality when cast but the amount drained can be lessened by having a bleeding wound or a ritualistic CUT.
  • A successful hit will reduce your opponent's balance and potentially knock them down.
  • No longer accrues Divine Outrage.
  • Casting this spell inside a standard justice zone generates Social Outrage.
  • Will ignite Naphtha.
