Famed Archaeologist Terald Sanfala needs your help! All those adventurers with Class-A shares are invited to take a hand in Terald's latest adventure! Terald is besieged by vermin and brain teasing puzzles at his latest dig site. Are you brave enough to help him reach his goal?
First off, the background.

A few years later, Terald was involved in the opening of the zombie togball area in Boar Clan. Where he led a group to try to recover a rare artifact/item. The local shaman asked them to stop, but Terald insisted and the adventurers ended up desecrating graves/sacred ground where the zombie togballers are now located.
Terald, a noted Artifact dealer and Professor, sold Shares at the Theren festival. These shares were an investment by the buyer, funding his upcoming dig. The investment was 100 platinum lirum. Nearly two years passed, and no word.

Terald managed to disappear after this and wasn't seen until he donated (for a fee) artifacts to be placed in Crossing's Trader plaza for a fee paid to him by the Trader guild.
About two months ago, Professor Camella, an associate of Terald's, showed up with an interesting statue. Was a rather quick appearance, which involved her manipulating the statue, and it singing a spot on a map, marking the city of Mer'Kresh.

Several years later, Terald met with the Owirvald Auction Company arranged to sell them some of his rare finds, with the idea of starting a nice slush fund for his next dig. Additionally he donated (for a small payment) a rare statue of Belirendrick I to Raven's Court to be placed in expanded VIP Housing area.
Roughly six weeks ago, two weeks after Camella's initial visit, she returned. This is when Joub, after hearing of the initial appearance, and being a Shareholder, sought her out. After a few minor words, we went to the Half Pint in. We gathered the shareholders that we knew of, and were available and had a small meeting. We set up in groups, to actively search for Terald, as Camella felt he was in danger. She hadn't heard from him in some time, and his last letter had detailed some trouble.

We split into four groups. Xip would head to Riverhaven. Candidus and a couple of others would stay in Crossing, and monitor things there. Joubeyrt, Baldric and a couple of others headed to Mer'Kresh. Idora and a few headed for Ratha. Baldric and I hit Ratha, and were waiting for our boat. We ran into a High Guard that relayed a quick story involving Terald, and confirming what Camella had heard happen to him.

A short time before his death, he returned to Elanthia and sent messages to all of his shareholders to meet with him at a tavern in Ratha. He told them about a missing fleet of ships that he had been searching for, that he believed was carrying a great treasure, and he wanted to include his shareholders in any archaeological discovery. He then led whichever shareholders were present beneath a temple and into a secret passage, requiring them to use their share for admission. The cave-like tunnels seemed to be a former hideout for Dragon Priests, and a dragon statue with a mural was discovered, which turned out to be a dragon airship painted with a mural carrying away a man who looked like Lanival. Suddenly, Terald was kidnapped! He was later discovered hurt and stunned just over a small cliff drop-off, and next to him was an ancient chest. Inside the chest were small winged lizards, all with various gem encrusted eyes. Each shareholder was allowed to take one lizard as a reward.
Most of the Ratha group, then joined up with Joubeyrt to head to Mer'Kresh. Most of us then spent a full week on Mer'Kresh, with no hints at all regarding the Terald issue. We finally decided to head to Aesry. Down to Ysabeau, Baldric, Larran, and a few others we picked up along the way, we spent nearly a week and a half on Aesry. Again, not a single word.

Mysteriously, and shortly after the quest with his shareholders, Terald was murdered in the Rest of Ages, Leth Deriel.
Candidus' group had a minor talk with Camella's boss. Which to my knowledge didn't offer any new information, other than to try and cast doubts on Camella's motives.

you know 2.5 years ago at Theren fest I pondered long and hard and went back and forth trying to decide if I wanted to commit to and fork out 100 plat lirum for "a class-A Terald share". 2.5 years ago 100 plat was a HUGE chunk of change to invest in future artifacts found in archaeological dig/endevor.
Anyway I took the leap of faith and bought one. I seem to remember APU a fairly young Trader at the time bought one as well. I am not sure who else may have commited 100 plat but am sure a few did.
Anyway I been packing it around and still have it on me. Sort of like some Lotto ticket... Sometimes I think it may pay off some and other days I think I got scammed for a huge nest egg back then but that was the gambel.
read my share
A class-A Terald share reads:
The bearer of this share understands that there is risk and uncertainty associated with archaeological digs. In return for the financing of one-hundred (100) platinum lirums of standard weight, the bearer of this share will be entitled to a portion of the proceeds of ancient goods discovered in Terald's next expedition. This portion will take the form of a 20% return on the money invested, or a single item found with an appraised value of under 175 platinums, *only* if the venture is successful.
You believe that the Terald share is worth about 1600000 lirums.

Notice it is no longer worth the purchase price of 100 plat but is now worth 160 plat?
If nothing else it is a good small appraisal teaching aid.
Quick summary.
Terald was investigating a Fleet of ships from the Dragon Priest empire. He was cahsed from Ratha by 'them' (Them in this case being some organized group that seems to have control of the Islands, especially Ratha), to Mer'Kresh. From Mer'Kresh he apparently headed to Aesry.
A group of us chased after him, trying to track him down...after two weeks on Surlaenis, we gave up and came home.
