This is the river which runs between Rossman's Landing and Riverhaven. A small tributary called Butternut Creek can be accessed branching SE off the accessible river.

The name is given from one of the rock formations within the river. As seen while traversing the water:

Long and low, a lichen-streaked grey boulder rises from the current. Lumpy ridges along the top resemble nothing more than two hands crossed on the breast of a massive corpse laid out at a funeral, giving rise to the original name of Giant's Pyre River.

Going from Rossman's Landing to Riverhaven takes relatively few swimming ranks (less than 50) however going from Riverhaven to Rossman's Landing will require about 140 ranks along with generous strength.

Removing armor, decreasing burden and using any strength boosters will help one get up the river much easier. At 135 swimming, with 40 strength, I could swim it with little issues with no hauberk, and no shields. At 130 swimming, with 40 strength, I could swim it with no hauberk, berserking flame.

At 189 athletics and 20 strength, unable to swim upstream. Trained to 24 strength at 191 athletics and could swim upstream with no armor.
