Description
Formed of shadows of the deepest black, the colossus is a roughly shaped humanoid that towers over fifty feet tall. Two bony vestigial wings sprout from its back and its thick, tendril-like fingers reach nearly to the ground. It moves with ponderous care, sending quakes through the ground with every plodding step.
In Depth
These creatures react differently to Lunar spells involving shadow and light.
- Your black moonblade strikes the umbral colossus and slowly sinks into its body. The black moonblade swiftly melts into liquid shadows which are greedily drawn into the umbral colossus.
- In the year 412, at the Moon Mage Conclave a group prediction (known as a circle of prophets) was convened. Reckless and power hungry elements from the guild chose to infuse the circle with teleologic sorcery resulting in a violent reaction from the Plane of Probability. This is the only recorded instance of a Shadowy Umbral Colossus entering the Plane of Abiding.
Recall
Creatures from the Plane of Probability are fairly well documented and studied. Generally speaking, they can be broken into three major classifications; concept, light, and shadow. The latter is the most common and well known, at least on the Plane of Abiding, and this seems to be an exceptionally large example of that variety.
Due to their shadow-based physiology, creatures such as these are particularly vulnerable to light-based lunar magic. However, they are generally resistant damage and will actually draw strength from shadow-based lunar magic.
They are not known to cast any recognized spells.
They are not known to carry loot in locked boxes.
