Introduced as Tuesday Tidings 166.
Though identical in form to their crauyarin brethren, the avtalia variant is easily identifiable by the hue of its crystalline form -- milky white, whorled and pulsing with nearly clear, translucent banding. While incredible that the scuttlers are able to sustain avtalia, why precisely they have been constructed of this material remains a mystery. Scholars have observed that the arrangement of the ever-shifting patterns along the scuttlers' tough carapace resembles focusing lenses, and are adamant that the creatures are storing and releasing starlight energies in staggering amounts. Multiple observation teams have been lost when the scuttlers take note of the intrusion, leaving behind nothing more than scorched earth. Only the toughest of combat medics have been able to sustain engagements with these constructions, though none interviewed were willing to describe the conflict.
They are not known to carry loot in locked boxes.
Certain Lunar equipment, such as Moonblade and Regalia, have proven useful in dealing with these creatures.
They are known to cast Trabe Chalice, and Crystal Dart.
These creatures are constructs created in the Plane of Abiding, and are not planar life.
They use use CRD and TRC, and when there are three or more of them in the same room, they will gain the effect of Enrichment. Enrichment grants a large damage bonus to the next Crystal Dart cast, after which the bonus will recharge over a minute as long as Enrichment is up.
Additionally, the scuttlers have unique interactions with Moonblades and Regalia. For now, we'll let intrepid lunar magicians experiment.
